2008 Finlandia Trophy
The 2008 Finlandia Trophy was the 13th edition of an annual senior-level international figure skating competition held in Finland. It was held at the Valtti Areena in Vantaa between October 9 and 12, 2008. Vantaa (; sv, Vanda, ) is a city and Municipalities of Finland, municipality in Finland. Ari-Pekka Nurmenkari
Ari-Pekka Nurmenkari (born 8 July 1983) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. He is a seven-time (2003–2007, 2009, 2010) Finnish national champion and has represented Finland at the World Figure Skating Championships. He is the 2008 & 2009 Nordic champion. Nurmenkari withdrew from the 2012 European Championships due to an ankle injury. Personal life Nurmenkari married former professional tennis player, Annina Ahti, on 9 August 2008. Laura Anneli Lepistö (born 25 April 1988) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. She is the 2010 world bronze medalist, the 2009 European champion, and a two-time (2008 and 2010) Finnish national champion. After missing two seasons with various injuries, Lepistö announced on March 25, 2012, that she would not return to competitive skating. Personal life Lepistö was born in Espoo, Finland. Kevin van der Perren (born 6 August 1982) is a Belgian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2007 & 2009 European bronze medalist, a three-time Grand Prix medalist, and an eight-time (2000–2004, 2007, 2011, 2012) Belgian national champion. Alper Uçar
Alper Uçar (born 19 January 1985) is a Turkish former competitive ice dancer. With his skating partner, Alisa Agafonova, he competed at two Winter Olympics (2014 and 2018) and won eight international medals, including silver at the 2011 Winter Universiade and three medals on the ISU Challenger Series. They skated in the final segment at six European Championships and four World Championships. Earlier in his career, Uçar competed in single skating. Valtter Virtanen (born 4 June 1987) is a Finnish figure skater. He is a three-time Nordic medalist (gold in 2022, silver in 2016, bronze in 2014) and a six-time Finnish national champion (2013, 2015–2018, 2022). Maciej Cieplucha (Polish pronunciation: ; born 3 August 1988) is a Polish former competitive figure skater. He is the 2011 Finlandia Trophy bronze medalist, a two-time Warsaw Cup bronze medalist, and a three-time Polish national champion (2010, 2012, 2014). He has qualified three times for the free skate at the European Championships—in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Career Cieplucha began competing on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in 2003. He won the Polish national junior title in the 2004–05 season.
