2008 Africa Cup Of Nations
The 2008 Africa Cup of Nations, also known as the MTN Africa Cup of Nations due to the competition's sponsorship by MTN, was the 26th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the biennial football tournament for nations affiliated to the Confederation of African Football (CAF). The tournament was staged at four venues around Ghana between 20 January and 10 February 2008. This was the last Africa Cup of Nations to use the old CAF logo. Egypt won the tournament, beating Cameroon 1–0 in the final. As winners, they qualified for the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup as the CAF representatives. Gnégnéri Yaya Touré (born 13 May 1983) is an Ivorian professional football coach and former player who played as a midfielder. He is an academy coach for Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur. Cairo International Stadium
The Cairo International Stadium ( ar, ستاد القاهرة الدولي), formerly known as Nasser Stadium, is an Olympic-standard, multi-use stadium with an all-seated capacity of 75,000. The architect of the stadium is the German Werner March, who had built from 1934 to 1936 the Olympic Stadium in Berlin. The engineering and construction supervision work of the stadium was performed by ACE Moharram Bakhoum. It is the 69th largest stadium in the world. Mohamed Mohamed Mohamed Aboutrika (Arabic: محمد محمد محمد أبوتريكة (repeated three times); born 7 November 1978) is an Egyptian retired professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder and a forward. He came second in the African Footballer of the Year award in 2008 after Emmanuel Adebayor, and was one of five nominees for the 2006 award, and one of the ten nominated for the 2013 award. Hosni Abd Rabbo Abdul Muttalib Ibrahim ( ar, حسني عبد ربه عبد المطلب إبراهيم; born 1 November 1984) is an Egyptian footballer manager and a former professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder. Hosny was usually deployed as a deep-lying playmaker in midfield for both his club and national sides. Roguy Méyé (born 7 October 1986) is a Gabonese former professional footballer who played as a striker.
