2008 3. Divisjon
The 2008 season of the ''3. divisjon'', the fourth highest association football league for men in Norway. Between 18 and 26 games (depending on group size) were played in 24 groups, with 3 points given for wins and 1 for draws. Twelve teams were promoted to the 2. divisjon through playoff. Association Football
Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of 11 players who primarily use their feet to propel the ball around a rectangular field called a pitch. The objective of the game is to score more goals than the opposition by moving the ball beyond the goal line into a rectangular framed goal defended by the opposing side. Traditionally, the game has been played over two 45 minute halves, for a total match time of 90 minutes. With an estimated 250 million players active in over 200 countries, it is considered the world's most popular sport. Nordstrand Idrettsforening is a sports club in Nordstrand, Oslo, Norway. The club has sections for alpine skiing, association football and handball. It formerly had sections for orienteering, track and field and Nordic skiing. The club colors are white and blue. General history It was founded in 1919 as a merge between Skiklubben Freidig (founded 1891) and Sportsklubben Grane (founded 1893). The club counts 1891 as its founding year. Norwegian reserve football teams compete at all levels of league football within the Norwegian football league system apart from the top two divisions, Eliteserien and 1. divisjon. The highest league these teams can currently enter is the 2. divisjon, set at the third tier of the league system. The reserve teams are attached to their first teams with a "2" suffix and must play in a lower league than the first team. Furthermore, if a club's first team plays in the 1. divisjon, the reserves team cannot play in the 2. divisjon either. If a reserve team ends up at a promotion spot when it is not allowed to be promoted, the promotion is awarded to best following team in the league standings which is allowed to be promoted. Also, a reserve team is forcefully relegated, regardless of the final league position, if it is no longer qualified for playing at that level - i.e. if the first team is relegated to a league level where the reserve team's level is no longer allowed. Grorud Idrettslag is a Norwegian sports club from Grorud borough, Oslo. It has sections for association football, skiing, gymnastics and tennis. General history As a sports club based in Grorud, it had two predecessor clubs in ''Grorud IF'', which existed from 1904 to 1905, and ''Grorud TIF'', which existed from 1908 to 1914. Grorud IL was finally founded on 18 March 1918. At the time, Grorud was still located in Aker municipality. The district was incorporated into Oslo in 1948 and tied to the city centre with the Grorud Line of the Oslo Metro in 1966. The club finished construction of its football field in 1926, and its ski jumping hill Rannkollen in 1928. Bygdø Monolitten Idrettslag is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Bygdøy and Skøyen, Frogner, Oslo. It has sections for association football, team handball, floorball and badminton. History The club was founded on 29 May 1914 under the name ''Djerv''. The name was changed to ''Skøien BK'' in 1915 and to ''Skøien IF'' as the club started to participate in non-ball games. However the name was changed to ''Bygdø BK'', "Bygdø Ball Club", in 1927. The club added Nordic skiing in 1923, track and field in 1929 and bandy in 1934. All these were later abolished. The club got its own sports field with gravel surface in 1934, and a grass pitch in 1947. Nesodden Idrettsforening is a Norwegian sports club from Nesodden. It has sections for association football, athletics, basketball, table tennis, fencing, orienteering, skiing and speed skating. Founded on 24 July 1920, their home field is Berger stadion. The club colors are black and white. The handball section broke away in 1992 to form Nesodden HK. KFUM-Kameratene Oslo
KFUM-Kameratene Oslo is the sports branch of the local YMCA in Oslo, Norway. It has sections for association football, futsal, volleyball and track and field. The football team currently plays in 1. divisjon, the second tier of the Norwegian football league system. The club was founded on 1 January 1939. Its traditional base is in downtown Oslo, but it now plays its matches at KFUM Arena at Ekebergsletta. Football In 2008 KFUM-Kameratene Oslo won their 3. divisjon group, and also won the playoff to gain promotion. It had formerly failed in such a playoff in 2004. Idrettslaget Heming is a Norwegian sports club from Slemdal, Oslo. It has sections for association football, Nordic skiing, alpine skiing, orienteering and tennis, previously also for bandy.
