2007–08 Sheffield Shield Season
The 2007–08 Pura Cup was the 106th season of official first-class domestic cricket in Australia. Six teams representing six states in Australia participated in the competition. The 2007 competition began on 12 October, when the previous season's champions, Tasmania took on Queensland at the Gabba. New South Wales were crowned champions for the 45th time in their history as they beat Victoria by 258 runs in the Pura Cup final. NFCC
The PFF National Challenge Cup is an annual semi-professional Single-elimination tournament, knockout association football, football competition in men's domestic Football in Pakistan, Pakistani football within the Pakistan football league system. It is organized by and named after the Pakistan Football Federation. Khan Research Laboratories F.C., Khan Research Laboratories have won the most titles (six). WAPDA F.C., WAPDA are the current champions, winning the 2020 PFF National Challenge Cup, 2020 edition courtesy of a 1-0 win against SSGC F.C. in the final. Jimmy Maher
James Patrick Maher (born 27 February 1974) is an Australian former cricketer, who played One Day Internationals. He is "an attractive left-handed batsman with a clumping cover-drive". Maher competed in the Gladiator Team Sports Challenge in 1995. Domestic career The following two seasons were a prolific pair for Maher playing for Queensland, a time which included a period at Glamorgan. In 2001–02, he became the first batsman to reach 1000 runs in the Pura Cup. On 25 February 2007, Maher was named Man of the Match in the Ford Rangers Cup Final against the Victorian Bushrangers after making 108 from 133 balls. The Queensland Bulls went on to win the match by 21 runs. It was the third time that he had scored a century for Queensland in a One Day domestic final. Brett Geeves
Brett Geeves (born 13 June 1982) is an Australian retired cricketer, who played for the Tasmanian Tigers in Australian domestic cricket, and for the Glenorchy Cricket Club in Tasmanian club cricket. He was also selected by the Delhi DareDevils in the Indian Premier League. Chris Simpson (cricketer)
Christopher Patrick Simpson (born 9 January 1982) in Brisbane, Queensland, is an Australian cricketer and former captain of the Queensland Bulls in Australian domestic cricket. He is a right arm offbreak bowler and right-handed batsman. Simpson attended school at Villanova College in Coorparoo, where he played for the 1st XI from grade 9 to 12. Simpson was originally a fast bowler, turning to offspin in 2001–02. He played his first Pura Cup in 2002–03 season against New South Wales, but it wasn't till 2005–06 that Simpson started tasting success. Ashley Noffke
Ashley Allan Noffke (born 30 April 1977) is a former Australian professional cricketer who played domestically for Queensland (1998–2009) and Western Australia (2009–2010). Noffke, who primarily played as a right-arm fast-medium bowler, also made three appearances for the Australian national side. Noffke made his first-class debut on 27 March 1999 for the Australian Cricket Academy XI against the Zimbabwe Cricket Academy XI in Harare. In a match in which the Australians dominated, Noffke claimed 1/5 off 2 overs in the first innings and 2/10 off 6 overs in the second. On 27 January 2000, Noffke made his maiden first-class appearance for Queensland against Victoria. Brendan Drew
Brendan Gerard Drew (born 16 December 1983) is an Australian cricketer, who played domestic cricket for the Tasmanian Tigers. When not on Tasmanian duty, Drew played Tasmanian club cricket for the Lindisfarne Cricket Club. A tall bowler who generates a lot of pace and bounce, Drew arrived in Tasmania mid-season in 2005 to fill in for a bowling attack struck by injury. Travis Birt
Travis Rodney Birt (born 9 December 1981) is an Australian former cricketer. A left-handed batsman, Birt represented the Australian national under-19 team before making his debut for Tasmania during the 2003–04 season. Strong form at state level led to his selection for Australia A during the 2006 off-season, as well as a two-year stint with Derbyshire in English county cricket. Birt transferred to Western Australia for the 2011–12 season, but has found more success in the Twenty20 format, variously representing the Wellington Firebirds, Delhi Daredevils, Nagenahira Nagas, and Khulna Royal Bengals in New Zealand, Indian, Sri Lankan, and Bangladeshi domestic tournaments, respectively. Adam Charles Voges (, born 4 October 1979) is an Australian cricket coach and former cricketer who played for the Australian national team at Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) level, and also captained Western Australia and Perth Scorchers in domestic cricket. Voges' Test match batting average of 61.87 is second behind Don Bradman among batsmen who have finished their career and played a minimum of 20 innings. Voges was included in the 2016 ICC Test Match Team of the Year. WACA Ground
The WACA (formally the WACA Ground) is a sports stadium in Perth, Western Australia. The stadium's name derives from the initials of its owners and operators, the Western Australian Cricket Association. The WACA has been referred to as Western Australia's "home of cricket" since the early 1890s, with Test cricket played at the ground since the 1970–71 season. Cameron White
Cameron Leon White (born 18 August 1983) is an Australian former international cricketer who captained the national side in Twenty20 Internationals. A powerful middle order batsman and right-arm leg-spin bowler, White made his first-class cricket debut as a teenager in the 2000–01 season for the Victoria cricket team as a bowling all-rounder. In 2003–04, he became Victoria's youngest ever captain at the age of 20 when he took over leadership of their one-day side, and the first-class captaincy followed the season after. Daniel Marsh
Daniel James Marsh (born 14 June 1973) is a former Australian cricketer who captained the Tasmanian Tigers. The son of former late Australian keeper Rod Marsh, he was a right-handed batsman and a handy slow left-arm orthodox bowler. He played for the South Australia early on in his career and played County Cricket for Leicestershire County Cricket Club. Dan Marsh was a powerful striker of the ball and was capable of occupying the crease for long periods. He led the Tasmanians to just their second ever trophy when they won the 2004–05 ING Cup.
