2007 MLS Expansion Draft
The 2007 MLS Expansion Draft was held on November 21, 2007, and is a special draft for the Major League Soccer expansion team San Jose Earthquakes. They made 10 selections from a pool of players from current MLS clubs. Format * Only one player may be selected from each team, three of the league's 13 current teams will not have a player selected. * Teams will be allowed to protect 11 players from their 28-man rosters. Generation adidas Generation Adidas is a joint venture between Major League Soccer and U.S. Soccer aimed at raising the level of young professional soccer talent in the United States. San Jose Earthquakes
The San Jose Earthquakes are an American professional soccer team based in San Jose, California. The Earthquakes compete as a member club of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). Originally as the San Jose Clash, the franchise began play in 1996 as one of the charter members of the league. The Earthquakes took part in the first game in MLS history, defeating D.C. United 1–0. Jonathan Bornstein
Jonathan Rey Bornstein (born November 7, 1984) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a left-back. He has captained and made 38 appearances for the United States national team. In addition to also playing for Chivas USA in Major League Soccer (with whom he was the 2006 MLS Rookie of the Year, an MLS Best XI, and a two-time MLS All-Star), he has played in Liga MX and in the Israeli Premier League. Anthony Hamilton (born August 26, 1985) is an American soccer player. Career College and amateur Hamilton played college soccer for University of California, Irvine, featuring in 70 games during his four seasons, amassing 23 goals and 7 assists. During his college years he also played for Orange County Blue Star in the USL Premier Development League. Hamilton earned his bachelor's degree in 2010 from the University of California, Irvine in Literary Journalism. Paulo Nagamura
Paulo Roberto Corradi Nagamura (; born March 2, 1983) is a Brazilian former professional footballer and coach who most recently served as head coach of MLS club Houston Dynamo. Amado Guevara (born 2 May 1976) is a Honduran former professional footballer and manager. He was the coach of Puerto Rico from 2018 to 2019. Jesse Alan Marsch (born November 8, 1973) is an American professional soccer coach and former player who is the current head coach of club Leeds United. Marsch played 14 seasons as a midfielder in Major League Soccer (MLS) with D.C. United, Chicago Fire, and Chivas USA, winning three league titles and four U.S. Open Cup titles, as well as earning two caps for the United States national team. Preston Burpo (born September 26, 1972 in Bethesda, Maryland) is a retired American soccer player who is currently the goalkeeper coach for Austin FC in Major League Soccer.
