European Tour
The European Tour (currently known as the DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons), legally the PGA European Tour is the leading men's professional golf tour in Europe. The organisation also operates the European Senior Tour (for players aged fifty or older) and the developmental Challenge Tour; the second tier of men’s professional golf in Europe. The tour's headquarters are at the Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. The European Tour was established by the British-based Professional Golfers' Association through the 1970s, and responsibility was transferred to an independent PGA European Tour organisation in 1984. Richard Bland (golfer)
Richard Bland (born 3 February 1973) is an English professional golfer. Career Bland was born in Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. He turned professional in 1996 and reached the final stage of the European Tour's qualifying school in 1997 to gain his card on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour for 1998. In 2001 he won for the first time, at the season ending Challenge Tour Grand Final. The win elevated him in the rankings sufficiently to gain a place on the European Tour for 2002. During his first season on the European Tour, Bland’s best tournament finish was a tie for 2nd place at the Murphy's Irish Open, losing in a playoff, and ended the year in 73rd place on the Order of Merit. In subsequent seasons, he failed to win enough money to maintain his card on the European Tour several times but regained his playing status each time, via the Challenge Tour rankings in 2004, 2008, and 2019, and via qualifying school in 2007 and 2011. Marcel Siem
Marcel Siem (born 15 July 1980) is a German professional golfer who plays on the European Tour. Career Siem was born in Mettmann. He turned professional in 2000 and came through Qualifying School to join the European Tour in 2002. He was again successful at Qualifying School in 2002. His first win on the European Tour came at the 2004 Dunhill Championship. Siem then had to wait eight years before picking up his second win in 2012 at the Alstom Open de France. This victory ensured Siem's place in the 2012 Open Championship and his first appearance in a World Golf Championship at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational. His best year end ranking on the Order of Merit is 14th in 2012. In March 2013, Siem won for the third time on the European Tour at the Trophée Hassan II in Morocco. Patrik Sjöland
Patrik Sjöland (born 13 May 1971) is a Swedish professional golfer. Early life Sjöland was born in Borås. Professional career He turned professional in 1990 and after several season on the second tier Challenge Tour, graduated to the European Tour for the start of the 1996 season. His most successful year by far was 1998, when he finished 5th on the European Tour Order of Merit and featured in the top 50 of the Official World Golf Rankings. After a poor 2005 season, during which he slipped outside the top 100 on the Order of Merit and lost his European Tour card, he took a break from the tour, playing just two tournaments in 2006. Sjöland secured a return to the European Tour at the end of season qualifying school season in 2006. Craig Lee
Craig Andrew Lee (born 9 May 1977) is a Scottish professional golfer who played on the European Tour. He lost to Thomas Bjørn in a playoff for the 2013 Omega European Masters. Career Lee had a successful amateur career in his home country, culminating with a win in the national Boys Stroke Play event in 1995. He turned professional the following year, but struggled to replicate his success, spending many years working as a club professional in the Stirling area. In 2007, despite not having a sponsor, Lee advanced through all three stages of qualifying school to gain his European Tour card for the first time. The Lytham Trophy is an amateur golf tournament founded in 1965 by the Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club, where it has always been held. It is a 72-hole scratch stroke play competition, and is classified as a Category A event by the World Amateur Golf Rankings. David Dixon (golfer)
David Dixon (born 27 March 1977) is an English professional golfer. Career Dixon was born in Bridgwater, Somerset, England. He turned professional in 2001. Dixon had a glittering amateur career, the highlight of which was his performance at the 2001 Open Championship, where he earned the silver medal as the lowest finishing amateur. Dixon bounced between the European Tour and the Challenge Tour between 2001 and 2007. However, in 2008 he secured his first ever professional win, and his status as a European Tour member, with victory at the Saint-Omer Open. David Drysdale
David Stuart Drysdale (born 19 March 1975) is a Scottish professional golfer. Career Drysdale was born in Edinburgh. He turned professional in 1995. He married his childhood sweetheart Victoria in 2004. Drysdale currently competes on the European Tour, having graduated through qualifying school for the fourth time at the end of 2008.
