2006–07 Missouri Tigers Men's Basketball Team
The 2006–07 Missouri Tigers men's basketball team represented the University of Missouri in the 2006-07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The season marked the first year of Mike Anderson's tenure. Pre-season Missouri returned just two starters from the 2005-06 team, which finished 11th in the Big 12 and 12-16 overall. Guard Jimmy McKinney and center Kevin Young graduated, and leading scorer Thomas Gardner left school for the professional ranks. The coaching turmoil involving Quin Snyder had defined the previous season; the Tigers controversially fired the head coach in February in the middle of a losing streak. Mike Anderson (basketball Coach)
Michael Andre Anderson (born December 12, 1959) is an American basketball coach, currently the head coach of the St. John's Red Storm. He came to St. John's after previously serving as head coach at UAB, Missouri and Arkansas. He also served as an assistant/associate head coach under Nolan Richardson at Arkansas for 17 years. Over his 20 seasons as a head coach, Anderson has compiled a 414–235 record, 11 20-win campaigns, 9 NCAA Tournament appearances, two Sweet 16 berths and a run to the 2009 Elite Eight. ''Big Monday'' is a presentation of Division I college basketball on ESPN. History Since debuting on January 5, 1987, it has broadcast games from numerous conferences, including: the Big East, which had been a ''Big Monday'' staple from 1987 until 2013; the Big Ten (1987–1991); the Big Eight (1992–1996); the Big 12 (1997–present); and either the Mountain West or the WAC. Originally, the Big Ten Conference games were aired in the 9 pm slot, before the Big 8/Big 12 games joined ''Big Monday'' in 1992. Texas Longhorns
The Texas Longhorns are the athletic teams representing the University of Texas at Austin. Big East Conference (1979–2013)
The Big East Conference was a collegiate athletics conference that consisted of as many as 16 universities in the eastern half of the United States from 1979 to 2013. The conference's members participated in 24 NCAA sports. The conference had a history of success at the national level in basketball throughout its history, while its shorter (1991 to 2013) football program, created by inviting one college and four other "associate members" (their football programs only) into the conference, resulted in two national championships.
