During the 2006–07 English football season, Charlton Athletic competed in the Premier League, FA Premier League. Season summary Following Alan Curbishley's resignation after 10 years in charge of the Addicks, Northern Irishman Iain Dowie was snared from South London rivals Crystal Palace F.C., Crystal Palace who were relegated in the previous season, but, despite being given more money to spend in the transfer market than any other previous Charlton manager, the club were in the relegation zone for most of his tenure and he was sacked in November. First-team coach Les Reed (football coach), Les Reed stepped into the breach, but also proved unsuitable for the job and was in turn replaced by former West Ham United F.C., West Ham United manager Alan Pardew. Bury, Greater Manchester
Bury ( ) is a market town on the River Irwell in Greater Manchester, England. Metropolitan Borough of Bury is administered from the town, which had an estimated population of 78,723 in 2015. The town is within the historic county boundaries of Lancashire. It emerged in the Industrial Revolution as a mill town manufacturing textiles. The town is known for the open-air Bury Market and black pudding, the traditional local dish. Sir Robert Peel was born in the town. Matthew Rhys Holland (born 11 April 1974) is a former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Holland began his career at West Ham United, having previously been with Arsenal's academy. During his time at West Ham spent time out on loan at Farnborough Town and AFC Bournemouth, going on to join the later permanently in 1995. After making over one hundred appearances for Bournemouth and captaining the club, Holland signed for Ipswich Town in 1997. Marcus Nathan Bent (born 19 May 1978) is a retired English professional footballer. A former England under-21 international, the journeyman striker played 573 games and scored 113 goals for fourteen different clubs. His numerous transfer fees totalled over £10 million. Radostin Prodanov Kishishev ( bg, Радостин Проданов Кишишев; born 30 July 1974) is a Bulgarian former professional footballer who works as director of youth/U19 coach of Chernomorets 1919. Kishishev earned 88 caps for Bulgaria, representing them at Euro 96 and the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Andy Reid (Irish Footballer)
Andrew Matthew Reid (born 29 July 1982) is an Irish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He turned professional in August 1999 making his debut for Nottingham Forest on 29 November 2000 against Sheffield United. Reid moved from Forest to Tottenham in 2005, then to Charlton Athletic in 2006, Sunderland in 2008 and Blackpool in 2011. In July 2011 he signed a two-year deal back at Nottingham Forest. Amdy Moustapha Faye (born 12 March 1977) is a Senegalese former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder and could also play as a centre back. Luke Young (footballer, Born 1979)
Luke Paul Young (born 19 July 1979) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Young began his career at Tottenham Hotspur in 1997, before moving to Charlton Athletic in 2001, where he spent six seasons. He then had stints at Middlesbrough and Aston Villa before moving to Queens Park Rangers in 2011. He played 379 career league matches, and all but one of them in the Premier League. Young represented the England national team on seven occasions in 2005.
