The 2006 Canadian Open (also known as the 2006 Rogers Masters and 2006 Rogers Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. The Pepperstone ATP rankings are the Association of Tennis Professionals' (ATP) merit-based system for determining the rankings in men's tennis. The top-ranked player is the player who, over the previous 52 weeks, has garnered the most ranking points on the ATP Tour. The 2006 Indian Wells Masters (also known as the ''Pacific Life Open'' for sponsorship reasons) was a joint ATP Tour and WTA Tour tournament that took place on the hard courts of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California. The 2006 RCA Championships was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 19th edition of the event known that year as the RCA Championships, and was part of the International Series of the 2006 ATP Tour. Ivan Ljubičić (; born 19 March 1979) is a Croatian former professional tennis player. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 3 singles ranking on 1 May 2006. David Nalbandian
David Pablo Nalbandian (; born 1 January 1982) is an Argentine retired professional tennis player who played on the ATP Tour from 2000 until his retirement in 2013. He reached the highest ranking in singles of world No. 3 in March 2006. Nalbandian was runner-up in the singles event at the 2002 Wimbledon Championships. During his career, he won 11 singles titles, including the Tennis Masters Cup in 2005 and two Masters 1000 tournaments.
