2006 Men's Champions Trophy (field Hockey)
The 2006 Men's Hockey Champions Trophy was the 28th edition of the Hockey Champions Trophy, an annual international men's field hockey tournament organized by the FIH. It was held in Terrassa, Catalonia, Spain from 22–30 July 2006. The Netherlands won the tournament after beating Germany 2–1 in the final. Terrassa
Terrassa (, es, Tarrasa) is a city in the east central region of Catalonia, Spain, in the province of Barcelona, ''comarca'' of Vallès Occidental, of which it is the co-capital along with Sabadell. The name ''Terrassa'' derives from Latin ''Terracia'', either from earlier ''Terracium castellum'' (“earthen castle”), or meaning "terrace", "area of flat land". Colin Batch (born 27 March 1958) is a professional international field hockey coach and former international player from Australia. Batch is the head coach of the Australian Men's national hockey team the ''Kookaburras'' following his appointment on Tuesday 6 December 2016. He was the head coach of the New Zealand Men's national hockey team the '' Black Sticks'' between 2013 and 2016. Prior to this he was the head coach of the Belgium Men's national hockey team the '' Red Lions'' from 2010 to 2012. From 2001 to 2008 he was the assistant coach of the most successful Australian Men's national hockey team the ''Kookaburras'' in history. Matías Alejandro Rey (born 1 December 1984) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays as a defender for the Argentine national team. Rey joined Real Club de Polo in Spain in 2005 and after fifteen consecutive seasons, he will return to Argentina at the end of 2020. Lucas Martín Vila (born 23 August 1986) is an Argentine field hockey player who plays for Spanish club Benalmádena as a forward. He made his debut for the national squad in 2005, after having played the Junior World Cup in Rotterdam, Netherlands. He played a total of 262 times for the Argentina national team until 2021. Germán Mariano Orozco (born 16 January 1976) is an Argentine field hockey defender, who made his debut for the Argentina men's national field hockey team in 1994.
