2006 Formula Nippon Season
The 2006 Formula Nippon Championship was contested over nine rounds, with twelve teams and 25 drivers competing in the championship. The specification chassis was the Lola FN06. After eight seasons of a specification engine, there was a competition between engine manufacturers, as teams could choose between Toyota and Honda 3000cc Indy Racing League style specification normally aspirated engines. Lola Racing Cars
Lola Cars International Ltd. was a British race car engineering company in operation from 1958 to 2012. The company was founded by Eric Broadley in Bromley, England (then in Kent, now part of Greater London), before moving to new premises in Slough, Buckinghamshire and finally Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, and endured for more than fifty years to become one of the oldest and largest manufacturers of racing cars in the world. Toranosuke Takagi
Toranosuke "Tora" Takagi (高木 虎之介; born 12 February 1974) is a Japanese former racing driver. Early career Takagi was heavily influenced by his father, a touring car driver. In the early 1980s he began racing karts, competing in his first championship kart race in 1987. After winning several All Japan National Kart A2 series races, Takagi ended his kart racing career in 1991 and began racing Formula Toyota in 1992. In 1993, he began competing in All Japan Formula Three, finishing 10th in his rookie season. is a factory supported racing team and tuner of Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The name stands for Tachi Oiwa Motor Sport. Their head office is located in Tokyo, Japan. They are currently heavily involved with Super GT, Super Formula and Super Formula Lights. is a Japanese race car driver from Tokyo currently racing in Super GT. Career History He began karting at age 12 in 1996 and quickly moved through the ranks, becoming a part of Honda's Formula Dream Project. He moved to Europe in 1998 to compete in ''Formula Vauxhall''. He then moved on to the Formula Ford European Championship and competed in the Formula Ford Festival, finishing seventh in 2000 and third in 2001. Loïc Duval (; born 12 June 1982) is a French professional racing driver racing for Audi Sport as a factory driver in DTM and driving for Dragon Racing in Formula E. He won the 2013 24 Hours of Le Mans with Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen driving the Audi R18 for Audi Sport. So far he won 42 races in the different categories he raced. Nakajima Planning Co.,Ltd, racing as Nakajima Racing, is a Super Formula and Super GT team organized and founded by Satoru Nakajima in 1983. Direxiv
Direxiv was a motorsports company that competed in Super GT and Formula Nippon. The company had links to the GP2 Series, then the feeder series for Formula One, and had submitted an entry to run a Formula 1 team in 2008 onwards. The team sponsored McLaren in F1 as well as former McLaren and former WilliamsF1 driver Alexander Wurz. Direxiv were linked with creating a "McLaren b-team" which would have given the then-GP2 competitor Lewis Hamilton (who was instead promoted directly to McLaren itself) and possibly either Pedro de la Rosa or Gary Paffett a seat in F1. Tsugio Matsuda
is a Japanese professional racing driver. He has won the Formula Nippon series twice, in 2007 and 2008. He has also competed in the All-Japan Formula Three Championship. Matsuda has also become a regular participant in the Super GT series which he won in 2014 jointly with Ronnie Quintarelli. The 2015 Super GT season was closely contested throughout the year, but ultimately Matsuda and Quintarelli successfully defended their title, taking the lead of the championship at the final race of the season at Motegi.
