2006 Australia Rugby Union Tour Of Europe
The 2006 Australian national rugby union team tour to Europe, known in Australia as the 2006 Wallabies Spring Tour, is part of a 2006 end-of-year rugby test series and takes place in November 2006. The tour consist of test matches against Wales, Italy, Ireland and Scotland as well as midweek games against Ireland A, Scotland A and Welsh team, the Ospreys. The tour is the first time this decade that captain George Gregan would miss out on a Wallabies tour opting to miss in preparation ahead of the 2007 Rugby World Cup with this Stirling Mortlock was named captain but missed out on the opening match due to injury. John Connolly (rugby)
John "Knuckles" Connolly (born 26 June 1951, in Brisbane) is a rugby union coach and the former head coach of the Wallabies. Connolly has in the past worked with the Queensland Reds, Stade Français, Swansea RFC as well as Bath Rugby. As a rugby player, Connolly played hooker for the Brothers club in Brisbane. From 1980 through to 1982, Connolly acted as a player and a coach for a rugby team in Darwin. His first major coaching position was with the Brothers club in Brisbane in 1983, acting as the reserve grade coach for three years, taking the team to two premierships. Subsequent roles came to him as he was appointed as the Under 19s and Under 21s Queensland rugby union coach. In 1989, Connolly took up a coaching position within the Queensland Rugby team. Sam Cordingley
Sam "Rat" Cordingley (born 20 March 1976 in Sydney, New South Wales) is a former Australian rugby union footballer and member of the Wallabies. Before retirement he played for the Melbourne Rebels. He was educated at the St Patrick's Marist College, Dundas. Career He played junior rugby for Dundas Valley. He also played for the Eastwood Rugby Club in Sydney, and made his debut for Queensland against Auckland in 1999. Cordingley made his Super 12 debut for the Queensland Reds that season in a match against the Wellington Hurricanes. The following season he was called up to the Wallabies squad and made his debut against Argentina. Mark Chisholm
Mark Chisholm (born 18 September 1981) is a retired Australian rugby union player. Chisholm usually played as a lock, but could also cover blindside flanker. Career Chisholm represented Australia's under-19 side in 2000 as well as being named QRU Colt of the season for his club Wests Bulldogs. He also played for the under-21 side in 2001 and 2002. He spent the 2002 Super 12 season with the Queensland Reds as a product of the Energex Reds College. The following season he moved to the Brumbies and made his Super 12 debut for the side that season in a game against the Cats in Johannesburg as a replacement, he went on to play in six more matches that season. Mitchell Chapman
Mitchell Chapman also Mitch, Mark, Chappo, Horse (born 15 March 1983, in Sydney), educated at The King's School, Sydney. and Brisbane Grammar School, is an Australian Rugby Union player for NSW Waratahs in the Super Rugby competition. Chapman can play at Blindside Flanker, Lock, or Number 8. Chapman represented Australia at under 21 level in 2003 and 2004 and captained the Australian schoolboys in 2001. James Horwill
James Horwill (born 29 May 1985) is an Australian former rugby union player, who has played for the Australian national side, with 61 caps to his name. He captained the Wallabies a number of times, including during the 2011 Rugby World Cup. Nathan Sharpe
Nathan Sharpe (born 26 February 1978) is a retired professional Australian rugby union player. He began his rugby career at the Queensland Reds in 1999 before joining the newly created Western Force in 2006, where he captained the club until his retirement in 2012. He played 116 test matches for Australia, including 20 as captain. His usual position was lock. Stephen Thomas Moore (born 20 January 1983) is an Australian former rugby union footballer, who played Super Rugby for the Brumbies and Queensland Reds and has 129 caps for Australia internationally, including 24 tests as captain. Tai McIsaac
Tai McIsaac (born 19 March 1975, in Brisbane) is an Australian rugby union football coach, and a former professional player. He is currently the head coach of the Perth Spirit team in Australia's National Rugby Championship. McIsaac played as a hooker for the Western Force and Queensland Reds in the Super Rugby competition before retiring from playing in 2009. Sione 'Utukiveisini Tatafu Polota-Nau (born 26 July 1985) is an Australian rugby union player who recently played for Parramatta Two Blues in Australia's Shute Shield. Brendan Cannon
Brendan Cannon (born 5 April 1973) is a former Australian rugby union footballer who played for the national team, The Wallabies and three Australian teams in the Super 12 and Super 14 competitions. Cannon played for both the Queensland Reds and the New South Wales Waratahs in the old Super 12 competition, prior to the entry of the Western Force, whom he played with for their first season. Benn Robinson
Benn Robinson (born 19 July 1984) is a former Australian professional rugby union footballer. He played as a loosehead prop for the New South Wales Waratahs in the Super Rugby and for Australia in international matches. Al Baxter
Alastair Baxter (born 21 January 1977) is an Australian former rugby union footballer. He played his entire professional career with the Waratahs in Super Rugby.
