The 2005–06 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Indonesia is an A1 Grand Prix race which was held on the weekend of February 12, 2006 at the Sentul International Circuit. Report Postponement The 2005–06 A1 Grand Prix of Nations, Indonesia was originally scheduled to be held on January 15, 2006. This changed on January 4, 2006 however, due to the unexpected death of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emir of Dubai and the uncle of A1 Grand Prix launcher Maktoum Hasher Maktoum Al Maktoum the day before. This postponement was prompted due to the traditional forty-day mourning period. Stephen Simpson (born 8 January 1984) is a South African-American professional racing driver currently competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and previously in the A1 Grand Prix, Champ Car Atlantic Championship and the Indy Pro Series, among others. Biography Simpson was born on 8 January 1984 in Poole, Dorset, England and he moved to South Africa with his family when he was 10 months old. Armaan Ebrahim
Armaan Ebrahim (born 17 May 1989) is a car racer from Chennai, India. He is the son of the ex-Indian F3 champion Akbar Ebrahim. Career Ebrahim started his career in karting and became Formula LGB Champion in 2004. He later moved to Formula BMW Asia for the 2005 season. During the same year he represented A1 Team India in the A1 Grand Prix Championship, driving in 6 races, before the team was disbanded due to lack of funds. Mathias Lauda (born 30 January 1981) is an Austrian racing driver currently racing for Aston Martin Racing as a factory driver in the FIA World Endurance Championship. He is the son of the late three-time Formula One world champion Niki Lauda and his first wife, Marlene. He has a brother, Lukas, who is currently his manager. Basil Shaaban (born 27 March 1980 in Beirut) is a Lebanese racing driver. Early racing Shaaban began racing in Lebanon at the age of 14 at the Circuit des Champions karting center near Brummana. Jiang Tengyi (, born January 30, 1985 in Shanghai) is a Chinese racing driver who drives for A1 Team China. In 1998 he took part in the Chinese KART Cup and raced to third place. Philip Giebler (born March 5, 1979 in Oxnard, California) is an American race car driver. Giebler was considered a top American prospect with an opportunity to race in Formula One early in his career. Following years in various Formula Three ranks, Giebler ran in Formula 3000 in 2003 half the season putting up a number of good results. He returned stateside in 2004 running in the Infiniti Pro Series and Toyota Atlantic, capturing a win in his IPS debut at Homestead-Miami Speedway, before being named as one of A1 Grand Prix A1 Team USA's drivers.
