2005 Volta A Catalunya
The 2005 Volta a Catalunya was the 85th edition of the Volta a Catalunya cycling race, which took place from 16 May to 22 May 2005, in Catalonia, Spain. The race began in Salou with a team time trial and ended in Barcelona. Yaroslav Popovych won the first major win of his career. Yaroslav Popovych
Yaroslav Popovych ( uk, Ярослав Попович; born 4 January 1980) is a Ukrainian former professional cyclist, who rode professionally between 2002 and 2016. The winner of the under-23 road race at the 2001 UCI Road World Championships, Popovych turned professional in 2002 with , where he performed particularly strongly in the Giro d'Italia, finishing third in 2003. Upon joining in 2005, his focus switched to the Tour de France, where he won the young riders' classification in 2005 and won stage 12 in 2006. When Discovery Channel folded at the end of 2007, Popovych moved to in 2008 and on to in 2009. Popovych also raced for in 2010 and 2011. From 2012 until 2016 he rode with the UCI ProTour team . Team Time Trial Stage
A team is a group of individuals (human or non-human) working together to achieve their goal. Anthony Charteau
Anthony Charteau (born 4 June 1979 in Nantes) is a French former professional road bicycle racer, who competed as a professional between 2001 and 2013. His biggest career victory was winning the Mountains classification in the Tour de France in the 2010 edition, which was his major breakthrough. He also won the Tropicale Amissa Bongo stage race in Gabon for three years in a row from 2010 to 2012. Charteau retired at the end of the 2013 season, after thirteen seasons as a professional. Llívia
Llívia (; es, Llivia ) is a town in the ''comarca'' of Cerdanya, province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. It is a Spanish exclave surrounded by the French ''département'' of Pyrénées-Orientales. Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Sornàs
Sornàs () is a village in Andorra, located in the parish of Ordino. Sornás is the first village along the 14 km of the main road 3, which connect Ordino with the Vallnord Ordino-Arcalís ski resort. The village, which due to its size and location looks more like an exclusive urbanization, had, in 2017, a population of 255 inhabitants, according to data from thStatistics Departmentof the Principality of Andorra. Vallnord
Vallnord () is a ski/snowboard resort in the Pyrenees mountains in the country of Andorra, close to the border with Spain at Tor, Pallars. Overview It encompasses the linked sectors of Pal and Arinsal (the sectors were linked by a cable car, opened in 2005, from the top of the Arinsal sector) and the Ordino-Arcalis sector some kilometres away. Pedro Horrillo Muñoz (27 September 1974 in Eibar, Basque Country) is a Spanish retired racing cyclist who rode as a professional for Mapei, Quick-Step and . He was forced to retire from professional cycling after a crash in the 2009 Giro d'Italia.
