The 2005 Swedish speedway season was the 2005 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 2005 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held in Vetlanda on 2 July. Tony Rickardsson won the Swedish Championship for the eighth time, which brought his total to just one behind the nine achieved by Ove Fundin during his career. The final was held under the format whereby there was preliminary event, main event, semi final and final. Niels Kristian Trochmann Iversen (, born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is an international motorcycle speedway rider. He was part of the Danish teams that won the Speedway World Cup in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. Early life Niels-Kristian Trochmann was born 20 June 1982 in Esbjerg, Denmark to Ann Marie and Flemming Iversen. Growing up with older brother Soren, Iversen decided he want to be a speedway rider. His local town Esbjerg had a track where Iversen began to learn his desired trade. Quickly moving up the ranks in Denmark, his first title came in 1994 at the 50cc Danish Individual Championship. Tomasz Robert Gollob (; born 11 April 1971 in Bydgoszcz, Poland) is a former Polish motorcycle speedway rider. He appeared in every Speedway Grand Prix series between its inaugural season in 1995 and 2013. His brother Jacek is also a speedway rider. Career summary Tomasz Gollob spent almost all of his career with hometown club Bydgoszcz until he moved to Unia Tarnów in 2004. He has won the Polish Individual Championship eight times (between 1992 and 2009) and the Polish Pairs Championship ten times. He has also won the Polish Grand Prix eight times in thirteen years. Västervik Speedway are a motorcycle speedway team from Västervik in Sweden. The Swedish Speedway Team Championship is the team championship of speedway in Sweden. Season by season History The Championship was introduced in 1950. In 1982 the Championship was renamed with a new league called the Elitserien being introduced. previously the highest league had been known as the Allsvenskan but since 1982 it has been the second tier of Swedish speedway.
