2005 Super Fours
The 2005 Super Fours was the fourth cricket Super Fours season. It took place in June and July and saw 4 teams compete in a 50 over league and a Twenty20 league. Knight Riders won the 50 over league, achieving their second title, whilst V Team won the Twenty20 league, also achieving their second title in the format, and their second in two years. Competition format In the one day tournament, teams played each other twice in a round-robin format, with the winners of the group winning the tournament. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The group worked on a points system with positions within the divisions being based on the total points. Points were awarded as follows: Win: 15 points. Tie: 6 points. Loss: 0 points. The captain of a cricket team, often referred to as the skipper, is the appointed leader, having several additional roles and responsibilities over and above those of the other players. Lynsey Riann Frances Askew (born 3 September 1986) is an English former cricketer who played as a right-arm medium bowler and right-handed batter. She appeared in eight One Day Internationals and six Twenty20 Internationals for England between 2006 and 2008. She played domestic cricket for Kent, Otago and Australian Capital Territory. Kirstie Elizabeth White (born 14 March 1988) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey and South East Stars. She plays as a right-handed batter and occasional wicket-keeper. She has previously played for Hampshire, as well as for Surrey Stars in the Women's Cricket Super League and Oval Invincibles in The Hundred. Clare Elizabeth Taylor (born 22 May 1965) is an English sportswoman, the first woman to have played on a World Cup team in both cricket and football. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. Anya Shrubsole (born 7 December 1991) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Berkshire, Southern Vipers and the Southern Brave. Born in Pembury, Kent, she began playing cricket at 11 and started her career as a medium pace bowler but found greater success when she switched to off spin. Stephanie Ann Davies (born 21 October 1987) is a former international cricketer who represented England in four One Day Internationals (ODIs) as well as Somerset in county cricket.
