2005 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2005 Individual Speedway Junior World Championship was the 29th edition of the World motorcycle speedway Under-21 Championships. The final was won by Krzysztof Kasprzak of Poland, after the meeting was stopped early after just 12 heats due to heavy rain and dangerous track conditions. Kasprzak and Tomáš Suchánek both finished on 8 points after three rides and Kasprzak was declared the winner after coin flipping. Freddie Lindgren took the bronze medal from Paweł Hlib by virtue of having two race wins from his three races. Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. A new competition was named Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was founded by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) in 1998, only open to European competitors. Edward Kennett
Edward David Kennett (born 28 August 1986 in Hastings, England) is a motorcycle speedway rider. He was the British Under-21 Champion in 2005 and has appeared in two Speedway Grand Prix as a wild card. Kennett's father Dave, was a motorcycle speedway rider who rode for the Eastbourne Eagles, Hackney Hawks, Newport Wasps and the White City Rebels. His uncle Gordon Kennett represented Great Britain, and rode for many clubs. Another uncle, Brian (Barney) Kennett, rode mainly in the British League Division Two/National League for the Canterbury Crusaders during the 1970s and 1980s. Career Kennett started his racing career in the Conference League with the Rye House Raiders in 2001. He had his first permanent team place with the Raiders in 2002. Morten Risager (born 30 September 1987 in Denmark) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. Career Risager earned his speedway licence in 2003. He first appeared in the British leagues during the 2004 season, riding for Coventry Bees. Martin Smolinski (born 6 December 1984, in Munich, West Germany) is a former international motorcycle speedway and Grasstrack rider from Germany. He is eight times champion of Germany. Career Smolinksi began riding in his natiove Germany for MSC Olching. He became the German junior champion in 2003 and after reaching the final 2003 Speedway Under-21 World Championship he signed for Coventry Bees in England. Coventry retained him for the following two seasons and his form improved over the next two seasons. In 2006, he signed for his first Polish club Rybnik and in 2007 became the German Champion for the first time. Also in 2007, he won the league and cup double with Coventry during the 2007 Elite League speedway season. He was a regular team member of the German speedway team at senior level and represented them in the annual Speedway World Cup. Christian Hefenbrock born (15 May 1985 in Kyritz, Germany) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Germany. Career He first rode in the United Kingdom for the Wolverhampton Wolves in the Elite League in 2006. It was in 2006 that he became the German champion after winning the German Individual Speedway Championship. In 2007, he was signed by the Lakeside Hammers but was replaced mid season when one of their own assets was made available. Jonas Davidsson (born 7 August 1984 in Motala, Sweden) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden and he was a member of Swedish national team. Career Davidsson came to prominence after reaching three World Under 21 finals in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He also won the Swedish Junior Speedway Championship in 2005. He signed for his first British team Reading Racers for the 2003 Premier League speedway season and his first Polish team Zielona Góra in 2006. In 2008, Davidsson experienced arguably his fineest career achievement when he won a bronze medal representing Sweden at the 2008 Speedway World Cup.
