2005 European Amateur Team Championship
The 2005 European Amateur Team Championship took place 28 June – 2 July at Hillside Golf Club in Southport, England. It was the 24th men's golf European Amateur Team Championship. Venue The club was founded in 1911. The course, located in Southport, 20 kilometres north of the city center of Liverpool, England, is a links course, with all the holes being between and on mainly large dunes and local indigenous pinewoods, typical of the area. It is physically close to both the Royal Birkdale Golf Club, near its south-western boundaries, and to the Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club. Format Each team consisted of 6 players, playing two rounds of stroke-play over two days, counting the five best scores each day for each team. Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course in North West England, situated near the Merseyside (formerly Lancashire) towns of Southport and Ainsdale, north of Liverpool. The course is near the coast of the Irish Sea, set amongst ranges of tall sandhills and smaller sand dunes, just south of Royal Birkdale Golf Club. Jarmo (Qal'at Jarmo) ( ku, Çermo) is a prehistoric archeological site located in modern Iraq on the foothills of the Zagros Mountains. It lies at an altitude of 800 m above sea-level in a belt of oak and pistachio woodlands in the Adhaim River watershed. Excavations revealed that Jarmo was an agricultural community dating back to 7090 BC. Antti Ahokas
Antti Juhani Ahokas (born 24 January 1985) is a Finnish professional golfer. Ahokas was born in Lappeenranta. After winning the Finnish Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 2005, he moved to the United States to attend the University of Minnesota, but left after just 3 months to return to Europe and further his ambitions as a professional. In 2006, Ahokas won the Irish Amateur Open Stroke Play Championship beating future world number 1 and major winner Rory McIlroy in a playoff. Having turned professional in 2006, Ahokas just failed to come through the European Tour final qualifying school and joined the second tier Challenge Tour for the 2007 season. Mark Flindt Haastrup (born 16 April 1984) is a Danish professional golfer. Haastrup was born in Højby. He attended Georgia State University for two years before turning professional in 2007. He claimed his maiden professional victory on the second tier Challenge Tour the following year, and finished a consistent 2009 season by gaining his card for the top level European Tour at qualifying school. In his first full season on the European Tour he finished at 117 on the Race to Dubai list, and got a medical exemption card for 2011 because of a broken wrist.
