The 2005 CAA men's basketball tournament was held from March 4–7, 2005 at the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia. Richmond Coliseum
Richmond Coliseum is a defunct arena located in downtown Richmond, Virginia, with a capacity of 13,500 that was most often used for various large concerts. The arena opened in 1971 and the region is looking to replace the aging facility with a larger one. The arena was quietly shuttered in February 2019 while new proposed replacements are in development. History Until John Paul Jones Arena opened in 2006, the Richmond Coliseum was the largest sports arena in Virginia. The Virginia Commonwealth University Rams men's basketball team played in the arena until the 7,500-seat Siegel Center opened on the VCU campus in 1999. Elvis Presley performed a concert at the coliseum on April 10, 1972, with footage being used in the film ''Elvis on Tour'' which documented Presley's spring tour of that year. Antoine Agudio
Antoine Marcus Agudio (born January 20, 1985) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League. He played college basketball for Hofstra University. High school career Agudio attended Walt Whitman High School in Huntington Station, New York. As a junior in 2001–02, he averaged 22 points per game, and as a senior in 2002–03, he averaged 24.9 points per game, earning All-Long Island honors both years and a pair of Long Island Championships. He also earned first team All-New York State as a senior. The Coastal Athletic Association men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the Coastal Athletic Association (formerly known as the Colonial Athletic Association). Jesse Pellot-Rosa
Jesse Pellot-Rosa (born July 4, 1984) is an American former professional basketball player. College career He went to George Wythe High School and college at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) (2003-2007). Professional career After going undrafted at the 2007 NBA draft, Pellot-Rosa has been active with different teams in Argentina's Liga Nacional de Básquet, Puerto Rico's Baloncesto Superior Nacional, and other European leagues. In 2009, he won both the BSN Most Improved Player and the BSN Most Valuable Player Award. He was also named as part of the league All-Star Team. In May 2017, Úrvalsdeild karla club Þór Þorlákshöfn announced it had signed Pellot-Rosa for the upcoming 2017–18 season. Nick George (basketball)
Nick George (born 25 September 1982) is a British former professional basketball player. College career George played four seasons of college basketball at Virginia Commonwealth University scoring a total of 1546 points. With the Rams he would win the 2004 Colonial Athletic Association regular season and tournament en route to his only NCAA tournament appearance. Professional career George started his professional career in 2006 with Italian club Benetton Treviso before moving to second division Imola. George would later play for Alicante, Dunkerque and Casale Monferrato before being forced to retire due to knee problems in 2010. The 2004–05 VCU Rams men's basketball team represented Virginia Commonwealth University during the 2004–05 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. It was the 37th season of the university fielding a men's basketball program. Led by third-year head coach Jeff Capel III, they continued to play their home games at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
