The 2004–05 season was Northampton Town's 108th season in their history and the second successive season in the fourth tier, in the newly rebranded League Two. Northampton () is a market town and civil parish in the East Midlands of England, on the River Nene, north-west of London and south-east of Birmingham. The county town of Northamptonshire, Northampton is one of the largest towns in England; it had a population of 212,100 in its previous local authority in the 2011 census (225,100 as of 2018 estimates). Bedford is a market town in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 Census, the population of the Bedford built-up area (including Biddenham and Kempston) was 106,940, making it the second-largest settlement in Bedfordshire, behind Luton, whilst the Borough of Bedford had a population of 157,479. Chris Willmott
Christopher Alan Willmott (born 30 September 1977, in Bedford, England) is an English retired footballer. Willmott began his career at Luton Town, before a move to Wimbledon alongside teammate Kelvin Davis. He returned to Luton on loan in 2002/03, and was all set to return on a Bosman transfer in the summer of 2003 as well as fellow loanee Sammy Igoe. However, the take-over and subsequent dismissal of the Luton management team saw Willmott join Northampton Town instead, where he scored once against Cambridge United. In the summer of 2005, Willmott joined Oxford United on a free transfer from Northampton. 'Motty' missed the majority of the 2007/08 season through a knee injury. He was released by Oxford United at the end of the 2008/09 season. Willmott signed a two-year contract with Southern League Premier Division side Brackley Town. Bridgnorth is a town in Shropshire, England. The River Severn splits it into High Town and Low Town, the upper town on the right bank and the lower on the left bank of the River Severn. Ashley Michael Westwood (born 31 August 1976) is an English professional football manager and former player. A graduate of the Manchester United Academy, the defender signed with Crewe Alexandra in 1995. Three years later he moved on to Bradford City. Winning promotion to the Premier League with the Bantams, he transferred to Sheffield Wednesday in 2000. He moved on to Northampton Town in 2003, where he stayed for three years. Antony John "Tommy" Jaszczun (born 16 September 1977) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Luke Chambers (born 28 September 1985) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Primarily a centre back, he could also play at right back. Chambers made 792 appearances in the English Football League, placing him in the top ten list of all time. Chambers began his career at Northampton Town, for whom he made over 100 appearances in five years, and Nottingham Forest where he made over 200 appearances.
