Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. Beneath The Massacre
Beneath the Massacre is a Canadian technical death metal band from Montreal, Quebec. Their debut EP ''Evidence of Inequity'', was released in 2005, under Galy Records. In early 2006, the band signed with Prosthetic Records and released their first full-length album, '' Mechanics of Dysfunction'', on the label on February 20, 2007. They were on the 2007 Brutalitour alongside Animosity, As Blood Runs Black, and the Faceless. They also played the Summer Slaughter Tour with Decapitated, Necrophagist, As Blood Runs Black, the Faceless, Ion Dissonance, and Cephalic Carnage. They were on the 2007 Radio Rebellion Tour along with Job for a Cowboy, Behemoth, and Gojira. Chrome Division
Chrome Division is a Norwegian heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in 2004 by Shagrath, the lead vocalist of symphonic black metal band Dimmu Borgir. Its current lineup consists of him on rhythm guitar, along with Eddie Guz as the vocalist, Mr Damage on lead guitar and Tony White on drums. The band plays biker metal and has released five albums, ''Doomsday Rock 'n Roll'' in 2006, ''Booze, Broads and Beelzebub'' in 2008, ''3rd Round Knockout'' in 2011, ''Infernal Rock Eternal'' in 2014, and ''One Last Ride'' in 2015, the band has announced that their fifth album is their last album. Cellador
Cellador is an American power metal band based in Denver, Colorado. Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, the band was founded in 2003 by Chris Petersen, the band's primary songwriter, as a direct contrast to the overcrowded metalcore and death metal scenes of the American Midwest. The band has had multiple lineup changes since its inception, but is now rounded out by founder Chris Petersen, drummer Nick McCallister, keyboardist Diego Valadez, and guitarist Eric Meyers. Celestiial
Celestiial is a funeral doom metal band from Minnesota. Initially consisting only of Tanner R. Anderson (vocals, harp, guitars), the band was later joined by Jason William Walton (bass) and Timothy Glenn (percussion). Celestiial is known for using numerous instruments in its music, combining traditional folk instruments with those more typically used in metal music, as well as sampling the sounds of the natural world. Catalepsy (band)
Catalepsy is an American deathcore band formed in 2004. They have released one EP, ''Godless'', and three studio albums, ''Iniquity'', ''Bleed'' and ''Abomination of Desolation''. History Catalepsy was founded in 2004 as a thrash/metalcore three-piece. From August 2006 the band's sound moved towards deathcore. They entered the studio in September and recorded two demo songs. In 2008, the band finished a tour with Hatebreed for their ''Live Dominance'' DVD release. They completed their first studio album, Iniquity, in January 2008. The album was released on May 13, 2008. Bloodbound is a Swedish power metal band formed in 2004 in Bollnäs. History They released their first studio album, ''Nosferatu'', in 2005 and their second, ''Book of the Dead'', in May 2007. Blood Tsunami is a Norwegian thrash metal band from Oslo, formed by Peter Michael Kolstad Vegem in 2004 and currently signed to Indie Recordings. Biography 2003–2004 Lead vocalist and lead guitarist Peter Michael Kolstad Vegem (a.k.a. Pete Evil) had been fronting his punk/rock' roll band, Hellride, for several years, but when this band broke up late in 2003, he decided form a heavy metal band, and began to write material for his yet unnamed new band. In early January 2004 he formed Blood Tsunami. Jørgen Nordli (a.k.a. Jay) joined on drums and the two immediately started rehearsing on Pete's material. Black Tide was an American heavy metal band from Kendall, Florida. Formed in 2004, the band last consisted of Gabriel Garcia (lead guitar, lead vocals), Austin Diaz (rhythm guitar) and Cody Paige (drums).
