The 2004 congressional elections in Arizona were elections for Arizona's delegation to the United States House of Representatives, which occurred along with congressional elections nationwide on November 2, 2004. Arizona has eight seats, as apportioned during the 2000 United States Census. Republicans held six of the eight seats and Democrats held two. This would be the last time until 2022 that Republicans would win 6 House seats in Arizona. John Shadegg
John Barden Shadegg (; born October 22, 1949) is an American politician and former U.S. Representative for , serving from 1995 until 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. The district, numbered as the 4th District before the 2000 Census, includes much of northern Phoenix. Early life, education and career Shadegg is the son of the former Eugenia Kerr and Stephen Shadegg, both deceased. The senior Shadegg, a conservative political consultant and public relations specialist, supported Barry Goldwater's 1952, 1958, 1968, 1974, and 1980 U.S. Senate campaigns and worked with F. Clifton White and Peter O'Donnell to organize the Draft Goldwater Committee in the 1963–64 presidential campaign. Raúl Grijalva
Raúl Manuel Grijalva (; born February 19, 1948) is an American politician and activist who has served as the United States representative for since 2003. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district, numbered as the 7th from 2003 to 2013, includes the western third of Tucson, part of Yuma and Nogales, and some peripheral parts of metro Phoenix. Grijalva is the dean of Arizona's congressional delegation. Early life, education and career Raúl Grijalva's father was a migrant worker from Mexico who entered the United States in 1945 through the Bracero Program and labored on southern Arizona ranches. Arizona's 6th congressional district is a congressional district located in the U.S. state of Arizona and encompasses parts of Maricopa County. Arizona's 5th congressional district is a congressional district located in the U.S. state of Arizona, currently represented by Republican Andy Biggs. The district contains Gilbert, Queen Creek, southern and eastern Chandler, and eastern Mesa. It is within eastern Maricopa County, and includes most of the East Valley. Arizona's 4th congressional district is a congressional district located in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is currently represented by Republican Paul Gosar, who lives outside the district in Flagstaff. It stretches from the periphery of Phoenix to contain much of the rural western and northwestern portion of the state. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+22, it is the most Republican district in Arizona. The current 4th was created after the 2010 census from portions of the old 1st, 2nd, and 5th districts.
