2004 Six Nations
The 2004 Six Nations Championship was the fifth series of the rugby union Six Nations Championship to be held since the competition expanded in 2000 to include Italy. Overall, this was the 110th series of the international championship. Match winners received two points, with one for a draw and none for a loss. The first tiebreaker was points difference. France won the competition, also winning the Grand Slam. Ireland won the Triple Crown, sweeping their matches against Wales, England and Scotland. Scotland were whitewashed, earning the wooden spoon as a result. Stephen Jones (rugby Player)
Stephen Michael Jones (born 8 December 1977) is a Welsh rugby union coach and former player who played primarily at fly-half. He played more than 100 times for Wales and six times for the British & Irish Lions. Jones was the record cap holder for Wales until he was overtaken by Gethin Jenkins on 15 March 2014. He remains as Wales most-capped back. With 970 international points, Jones is eighth in the List of leading rugby union test point scorers, and the second-highest Wales player on the list behind Neil Jenkins. At the end of the 2012–13 season, Jones retired from playing professional rugby to take up a coaching position at London Wasps and in August 2015 he joined the Scarlets as backs coach. Bernard Laporte
Bernard Laporte (born 1 July 1964) is a rugby player, coach and former French Secretary of State for Sport. From 1999 to 2007, Laporte was the head coach of the France national team. In 2011, he became the head coach at Toulon, after Philippe Saint-André became the new national team coach. He was previously the coach at Stade Français. He was the first fully professional head coach of France. On 3 December 2016, Bernard Laporte was elected president of the French Rugby Federation. Playing career Laporte played rugby union at scrum-half and won the French Under-21 championship with UA Gaillac in 1983 and then again in 1984, in which he was captain. Matt Williams (born 1960) is a rugby union coach, who is most prominent for having coached the Scotland national rugby union team, Scotland men's national rugby union team between 2003 and 2005. Williams’ tenure as the Scotland coach is notable as having the worst win-ratio in Scotland’s history, winning only 3 of 17 matches, all against tier two nations. Andrea De Rossi
Andrea De Rossi (born 8 August 1972 in Genova) is an Italian former rugby union footballer and a current coach. He played as number eight. De Rossi first team was Rugby Livorno, where he played from 1990/91 to 1999/2000. He then went to represent Rugby Calvisano, from 2000/01 to 2003/04, then, as player-coach, Gran Parma Rugby, from 2003/04 to 2005/06, and Rugby Club I Cavalieri Prato, from 2006/07 to 2009/10. John Kirwan (rugby)
Sir John James Patrick Kirwan (born 16 December 1964) is a New Zealand mental health advocate, former rugby union and rugby league player, and former rugby union coach. A wing, he played for Auckland in the 1980s and 1990s, when they dominated New Zealand rugby. He played in 63 tests for New Zealand, and scored 35 tries, making him one of the highest try scorers in international rugby union history. He was part of the New Zealand team that won the first Rugby World Cup in 1987. He also played rugby league for the Auckland Warriors in their first two seasons in 1995 and 1996. Stadio Flaminio
The Stadio Flaminio is a stadium in Rome. It lies along the Via Flaminia, three kilometres northwest of the city centre, 300 metres away from the Parco di Villa Glori. The interior spaces include a covered swimming pool, rooms for fencing, amateur wrestling, weightlifting, boxing and gymnastics. Brian Gerard O'Driscoll (born 21 January 1979) is an Irish former professional rugby union player. He played at outside centre for the Irish provincial team Leinster and for Ireland. Paul Jeremiah O'Connell (born 20 October 1979) is an Irish former rugby union player and coach. When he stopped playing, he was Ireland's third most-capped player (108) and the eighteenth most-capped international player in rugby union history.
