Tijuca Tênis Clube
Tijuca Tênis Clube, abbreviated as Tijuca T.C., is a Brazilian professional basketball club that is based in the Tijuca neighborhood, in the Northern Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. History Tijuca's parent athletic association was founded in 1915, initially as a tennis club, with the name Tijuca Lawn Tennis Club. Basketball was introduced later, and became the club's most popular sport. Tijuca has reached the final of the Rio de Janeiro State Championship ten times, losing them all. In 2010, 2011, and 2012, Tijuca lost to Flamengo in the Rio de Janeiro State Finals. In 2011, the team won the Brazilian Super Cup against Liga Sorocabana, and acquired the right to play in Brazil's top-tier level league, the NBB, in the 2011–12 season. In that season, Tijuca finished the regular season in twelfth place in the league. In the playoffs, the team was beaten by Uberlândia. Gracie Barra
Gracie Barra is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu association with over 800 schools on six continents. The organization was founded by Carlos Gracie, Jr. History Carlos Gracie Jr., who was born in 1956, grew up heavily influenced by his family, especially his father Carlos Gracie Sr. and his brother Rolls Gracie. Carlos was working as Rolls' assistant instructor when Rolls died in a hang-gliding accident in 1982; Carlos was asked to assume the head instructor role. The first Gracie Barra school was first founded in the upper-class Barra da Tijuca () neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro. In a few years Carlos Gracie Jr. was able to turn Gracie Barra into one of the most dominant teams in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu winning many consecutive world titles. World Jiu-Jitsu Championship
The World IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship (commonly known as the Worlds or Mundials) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament held once every year by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation. It is widely considered to be the most important and prestigious jiu-jitsu tournament of the year. The first edition took place in February 1996 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Since 2007 the tournament has been held in California, USA. The last edition of the championships took place at the California State University, Long Beach in June 2022.
