2003 Bofrost Cup On Ice
The 2003 Bofrost Cup on Ice was held at the Emscher-Lippe-Halle in Gelsenkirchen from November 7 and 9. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. It was part of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series from its inception until 2003, when it was replaced by Cup of China. The 2003 competition was the first when it was not part of the Grand Prix. The 2003 competition debuted a new form of competition. Instead of a short program, singles and pairs perform a jumping and required elements contest, followed then by the free skating. Ice dancers perform their original and free dances. The Bofrost Cup on Ice (the Fujifilm Trophy (1986–1987), the Nations Cup (1989–1997), the Sparkassen Cup on Ice (1998–2001)) was a senior international figure skating competition held in Germany from 1986 to 2004. Júlia Sebestyén (; born 14 May 1981) is a Hungarian former competitive figure skating, figure skater. She is the 2004 European Figure Skating Championships, European Champion and 2002–2010 Hungarian Figure Skating Championships, Hungarian national champion. At the 2004 European Figure Skating Championships, she became the first Hungarian woman to win the European title. Rico Rex
Rico Rex (born 5 October 1976 in Chemnitz) is a German former pair skater. With former partner Eva-Maria Fitze, he is the 2003 German national champion. Career Rico Rex started figure skating when he was four years old as the result of a talent screening in East Germany. Rex was a single skater until 1993. He then switched to pair skating and teamed up with Silvia Dimitrov, with whom he competed until 1997. They were coached by Monika Scheibe in Chemnitz. Their best international result was 8th at the 1996 European Championships. Dimitrov retired in 1997 due to an injury. Rex then teamed up with Katharina Rybkowski with whom he skated until 2000. Eva-Maria Fitze (born 10 May 1982 in Dachau) is a German figure skater who competed in both ladies' singles and pairs. As a singles skater, she was the youngest woman ever to win senior gold at the German Championships, taking the title at age 14 in 1997. She added another national title in 1999. Daniel Wende
Daniel Wende (born 24 July 1984) is a German pair skater. With Maylin Wende, he is the 2010 Trophée Eric Bompard bronze medalist, the 2013 Nebelhorn Trophy silver medalist, and a two-time German national champion. They have competed twice at the Winter Olympics (2010, 2014) and have placed as high as sixth at the European Championships (2011, 2014). Career Early career After starting out as a singles skater, Wende switched to pair skating at about the age of 16–17. His first partner was Rebecca Handke. Rebecca Handke (born 2 October 1986 in Soest, West Germany) is a German former pair skater. With partner Daniel Wende, she is the 2005-2006 German national silver medalist. Career Rebecca Handke represented the club SC Moehnesee as a pair skater with skating partner Daniel Wende. They were first coached by Julia Gnilozoubova. From 2004 on, their coach was Knut Schubert. After 2004, Handke and Wende trained in Dortmund and in Berlin. The pair achieved their highest international result of 6th at the 2005 European Championships. With Sean Wirtz, she is the 2006 Four Continents bronze medalist and a two-time (2003–04) Canadian national bronze medalist.
