In the 2002–03 season, USM Alger is competing in Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, Division 1 for the 23rd time, as well as the Algerian Cup. It is their 8th consecutive season in the top flight of Football in Algeria, Algerian football. Union Sportive de la Médina d'Alger ( ar, الإتحاد الرياضي لمدينة الجزائر); known as USM Alger or simply USMA for short, is a football club based in the inner suburbs of Algiers. The club was founded in 1937 and its colours are red and black. Their home stadium, Omar Hamadi Stadium, has a capacity of 10,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.
