South Korea
South Korea, officially the Republic of Korea (ROK), is a country in East Asia, constituting the southern part of the Korea, Korean Peninsula and sharing a Korean Demilitarized Zone, land border with North Korea. Eun Ji-won
Eun Ji-won Hangul: 은지원, Hanja: 殷志源, (born June 8, 1978) is a South Korean rapper and entertainer. He is the leader of the first generation idol group Sechs Kies (젝스키스). He is recognized as an ancestor of the K-pop world, paving the way for hip-hop in the Korean pop scene. He is also considered an entertainment icon, popularly known as "Eun Choding" (Elementary Eun) for his childish on-screen persona on ''1 Night 2 Days''. In addition to his music, he continues to appear in shows like ''New Journey to the West.'' Early life Eun Jiwon was born in Seoul, South Korea on June 8, 1978. Park Ji-yoon (Hangul: 박지윤; Hanja: 朴志胤; born January 3, 1982) is a South Korean singer, actress, and model. As a teen model, she gained wide exposure after starring in a Haitai biscuit commercial in 1994, and held a minor role in the television drama ''Dinosaur Teacher'' that same year. Jazz Fusion
Jazz fusion (also known as fusion and progressive jazz) is a music genre that developed in the late 1960s when musicians combined jazz harmony and jazz improvisation, improvisation with rock music, funk, and rhythm and blues. Electric guitars, amplifiers, and keyboards that were popular in rock and roll started to be used by jazz musicians, particularly those who had grown up listening to rock and roll. Jazz fusion arrangements vary in complexity. Some employ groove-based vamps fixed to a single key or a single chord with a simple, repeated melody. Others use elaborate chord progressions, unconventional time signatures, or melodies with counter-melodies. These arrangements, whether simple or complex, typically include improvised sections that can vary in length, much like in other forms of jazz. Bom Yeoreum Gaeul Kyeoul (Hangul: 봄여름가을겨울; lit. Spring Summer Autumn Winter), also known as SSAW, was a jazz-rock fusion band from South Korea. SSAW debuted in 1988. It had the hit songs, "Bravo, My Life," and "Somebody's Dream." SSAW disbanded on December 28, 2018, following the death of member Tae-gwan. History 1980s In 1986, Jong Jin-sim, Tae-kwan Jeon, Jae-ha Yoo, and Ki-ho Jang formed a group named Bom Yeoreum Gaeul Kyeoul (meaning "spring, summer, fall, winter" in Korean) with Kim Hyun-sik. Jae-ha Yoo left the band, Seong-shik Park joined, and they released a record, ''Hyeon-shik Kim and Bom Yeo-reum Gaeul Kyeo-ul''. The album carries a song “Lonely afternoon,” composed by Jong-jin Kim. Heo Hyeon-seok (Hangul: 허현석; born February 3, 1971), better known by his stage name Hyun Jin-young (Hangul: 현진영), is a South Korean singer, rapper, and dancer. He is known for his role in introducing Hip hop music, hip-hop music to South Korea. Hyun is known as the first artist to be signed to SM Entertainment, then operating as S.M. Studio, in 1989. ''Ssa2'' ( ko, 싸2; ko, 싸이2) is the second album by South Korean singer Psy, released on January 16, 2002. The album contains 14 songs and was later released worldwide through iTunes. Commercially, the album had sold nearly 74,000 copies by the end of 2002 and was the 76th best-selling album of the year in South Korea. Release and controversy After the controversy which surrounded the release of his first album ''Psy from the Psycho World!'' in early 2001, and being fined for explicit content, this second album's release at the beginning of 2002 followed in its footsteps. In November 15, 2001, he was arrested for smoking marijuana, ordered to pay 10,000,000 won for his bail and heavy fine of 500,000 won, and spent 25 days in jail. Sharp (South Korean Band)
Sharp (stylized as S#arp; ) were a South Korean co-ed pop vocal group that was active from 1998 to 2002. The group initially consisted of Lee Ji-hye, Seo Ji-young, Jang Seok-hyun, John Kim and Oh Hee-jong. John and Hee-jong left the group after the release of the group's first album, ''The S#arp'', in 1998. New members Sori and Chris joined the group in 1999 for the second album, ''The S#arp+2''. Sori later left the group, and Sharp went on to release the albums, ''The Four Letter World Love'' (2000), ''4ever Feel So Good'' (2001), ''Flat Album'' (2001), and ''Style'' (2002).
