Richard Morecroft
Richard Morecroft (born 20 January 1956) is an English-born Australian radio announcer, TV newsreader and presenter, and conservationist. He presented the Adelaide News bulletin, before becoming the long-running host of the nightly bulletin of ABC News NSW from 1983 until 2002. Between 2010 and 2012, he hosted the quiz show ''Letters and Numbers''. Early life Morecroft was born in Market Harborough in the English Midlands. His father Peter and mother Phyll moved the family to Adelaide in 1966 for the benefit of his brother Andrew's respiratory problems; Peter set up a dentist's practice there. Broadcasting career Morecroft studied English and Drama at the University of Adelaide with thoughts of becoming an actor or teacher. Tim Lane (journalist)
Timothy Lane (born 18 September 1951 in Launceston, Tasmania) is a veteran Australian sports broadcaster and journalist with the Seven Network and Fairfax. He currently calls Australian rules football ( AFL) matches for 3AW radio on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and writes for ''The Age'' newspaper. Additionally, beginning in 2018, he is a lead commentator for the Seven Sport test cricket coverage. Between 2003 and 2011, he was also an AFL commentator for Network Ten. Lane is well known for commentating on a variety of sports for decades—particularly cricket—as well as AFL and as a track-and-field commentator for both the Summer Olympics and Commonwealth Games. He famously called Cathy Freeman for ABC Grandstand radio at the Sydney 2000 Olympics. Tim Gossage
Tim Gossage (born 27 February 1965, in Perth) is an Australian sports commentator and Australian rules football coach based in Perth, Western Australia. Media Gossage joined Network 10 in Perth in 1990. During his time at Ten, he'd featured on the network's Melbourne Cup Coverage & an AFL commentator or boundary rider on Ten and Fox Sports, mainly commentating AFL games involving the Fremantle Dockers and West Coast Eagles. In 2009, Gossage briefly involved with 3AW Football coverage in place of the recently deceased Clinton Grybas while involved with sister station 6PR Football coverage. He also presents the sport news on the Perth edition of Ten News in addition to hosting a local weekly football show, The Western Front. Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. ''The Western Front'' is an Australian rules football television series that has been broadcast on Network Ten in Western Australia in 2002 and ended on 8 October 2011. The show focuses on the two Western Australian teams in the Australian Football League, and , as well as the West Australian Football League. The show has been hosted by Tim Gossage and Lachy Reid from its debut until 2010, but for the 2011 season, Reid will host it with a guest host each week. The show is notable for encouraging people to form a "big 'W'" hand sign in the background of television broadcasts on any show on any network. The sign is created by holding your hands up in front of you with the thumbs touching and only the index fingers extended, to form a " W" shape. The 2002 AFL season was the 106th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. Collingwood Football Club
The Collingwood Football Club, nicknamed the Magpies or colloquially the Pies, is a professional Australian rules football club based in Melbourne that competes in the Australian Football League (AFL), the sport's elite competition.
