The 2002 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was the 15th edition of the event, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB. It was held in Salta, Córdoba, Argentina, Córdoba, Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Santa Fé, Argentina, Santa Fé and San Juan, Argentina, San Juan in Argentina from September 28 to October 13, 2002. All times are Time in Argentina, Argentina Time (UTC−03:00). Qualification * Due to the clash of dates with the Volleyball at the 2002 Asian Games – Men, 2002 Asian Games, South Korea withdrew from participating and instead was FIVB give a wildcard to Poland. Eduardo Duhalde
Eduardo Alberto Duhalde (; born 5 October 1941) is an Argentine Peronist politician who served as the interim President of Argentina from January 2002 to May 2003. He also served as Vice President and Governor of Buenos Aires in the 1990s. Born in Lomas de Zamora, he was elected for the local legislature and appointed ''intendente'' (mayor) in 1973. He was deposed during the 1976 Argentine coup d'état, and elected again when democracy was restored in 1983. He was elected vice-president of Argentina in 1989, under President Carlos Menem. Duhalde resigned as vice president and was elected Governor of Buenos Aires Province in 1991, and re-elected in 1995. He ran for president in 1999, being defeated by Fernando de la Rúa. De la Rúa resigned during the December 2001 riots, and Congress appointed the governor of San Luis Province Adolfo Rodríguez Saá as president. Orfeo Superdomo
The Orfeo Superdome is an indoor arena, indoor sports arena that is located in Córdoba, Argentina, Córdoba, Argentina. The arena is primarily used to host basketball, volleyball, boxing, and tennis events. It's also the host venue for most concerts in Córdoba. The seating capacity of the arena is 14,000 people for sports, and 8,000 to 12,000 people for concerts.
