The 2002 Armenian Cup was the 11th edition of the Armenian Cup, a football competition. In 2002, the tournament had 16 participants, out of which 2 were reserve teams. Results First round The first legs were played on 30 and 31 March 2002. The second legs were played on 3 and 6 April 2002. Quarter-finals The first legs were played on 19 and 20 April 2002. Spartak Yerevan FC ( hy, Սպարտակ Երևան Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ) was an Armenian professional football club based in Yerevan. The club competed in the Armenian Premier League. Club history The club was founded in late 2000 as ''FC Araks-Impeks'' in the Armenian capital city of Yerevan. After taking over the rights of the financially struggling Araks Ararat FC to play in the Armenian Premier League, Araks-Impeks took part in the 2001 Armenian Premier League. On August 20, 2001, in the middle of the ongoing season, Araks-Impeks changed their name to ''Spartak Yerevan''. After the 2002 season, the club was dissolved and the players moved to FC Banants. Away Goals
The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals " away from home" wins. This is sometimes expressed by saying that away goals "count double" in the event of a tie, though in practice the team with more away goals is simply recorded as the victor, rather than having additional or 'double' goals added to their total. FC Kotayk ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Կոտայք) is a defunct Armenian football club from the town of Abovyan, Kotayk Province. History Founded in 1955, Kotayk was one of the oldest football clubs in Armenia. After playing several years in the Armenian SSR League as well as the Soviet First League, Kotayk made their debut in the Armenian Premier League in 1992. They participated in the European Cups for the first time in 1996–97. In the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup winning 1–0 at home against AEK Larnaca from Cyprus. Ulisses Football Club ( hy, Ուլիս Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ), commonly known as Ulisses, is a defunct Armenian football club from Yerevan. The club played at the Armenian Premier League, the top division in Armenian football.
