Michael Boogerd
Michael Boogerd (born 28 May 1972) is a Dutch former professional road bicycle racer. He was one of the leaders of a generation of Dutch cyclists in the late 1990s and early 2000s, together with teammate Erik Dekker and female cyclist Leontien van Moorsel. Career Boogerd was born in The Hague, and began his professional career in 1994, joining ''WordPerfect''. In 1995 the team changed name to ''Novell'', before Rabobank in 1996 became main sponsor and name for the team. Boogerd stayed with the team his entire career. His speciality were hilly classics like Liège–Bastogne–Liège, La Flèche Wallonne and the Amstel Gold Race in the Ardennes week and the Lombardian races in the Fall, as well as mountain-stages. Scott Sunderland (road Cyclist)
Scott G. Sunderland (born 28 November 1966) is an Australian former professional cyclist, who is a now a sports manager and consultant. Sunderland was born in Inverell, a country town in northern New South Wales. He worked double shifts in the Inverell abattoirs to fund his early European racing career. Until he retired at the end of 2004, Sunderland was Australia's longest serving professional cyclist, and placed highly in many of the cycling world's greatest events. As a racer, Sunderland had some injuries and setbacks, the most memorable being when he was struck by a car driven by his former director, Cees Priem, during the 1998 Amstel Gold race. Sunderland recovered and the final few years of his career saw a resurgent Scott Sunderland. Sunderland rode his last Tour de France in 2004. Axel Eddy Lucien Jonkheer Merckx (born 8 August 1972) is a Belgian former professional road bicycle racer and the son of five-time Tour de France champion Eddy Merckx. He is team director of UCI Continental team . In his professional career (1993–2007), he won the Belgian national road race championship in 2000 and a bronze medal in the road race at the 2004 Olympic games in Athens. Cycling career Born in Uccle, Axel Merckx became a professional cyclist in 1993, winning the Belgian national road race championship in 2000. He vowed to make his mark by accomplishing feats that had eluded his father, such as winning a Tour de France stage at Alpe d'Huez and the Paris–Tours classic. The Brabantse Pijl ( en, Brabant Arrow, french: italic=yes, Flèche Brabançonne or ''Flèche Branconne'') is a Flanders Classics road bicycle race held annually in Flemish Brabant and in Walloon Brabant, Belgium. Since 2005, the race has been organised as a 1.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. Zaventem used to be the city of start; in 2008 however, Leuven became the place of start. Until 2009, the finish was located in Alsemberg and, in 2010, it moved to Overijse. Zaventem () is a Belgian municipality in the province of Flemish Brabant. It is located in the Dijleland area, one of the three large recreational areas which together form the '' Groene Gordel'' ("Green Belt") around the Brussels-Capital Region. Ludo Dierckxsens (born 14 October 1964 in Geel, Flanders) is a former Belgian racing cyclist. He is best known for winning the 11th stage of the 1999 Tour de France, while competing for . 1999 Tour de France Ludo Dierckxsens won the 11th stage of the 1999 Tour de France. After this stage victory, Dierckxens went to take the obligatory doping tests. When the doctors asked him the routine question if he had taken any products which might cause a positive test result, Dierckxens replied that he had taken tetracosactide (Synacthen) in the Tour of Germany. He claimed to have a prescription for them, but his team did not know about this, and sent him home a few days later. The doping tests returned negative. Geert Verheyen (; born 10 March 1973) is a former Belgian professional road racing cyclist who competed as a professional between 1994 and 2011. He was born in Diest, and is the cousin of cyclist David Verheyen. He turned professional in 1994, racing for Vlaanderen 2002-Eddy Merckx. In 1998 he went on to race for the UCI Professional Continental team, Lotto, and later Rabobank, Marlux, Chocolade Jacques and Colnago.
