2000–01 Hong Kong League Cup
Hong Kong League Cup 2000–01 is the 1st staging of the Hong Kong League Cup. The 8 teams in Hong Kong First Division League participated in the competition and Happy Valley won the first title of this competition by winning 2-1 against Sun Hei under golden goal rule. It received a HK$125,000 champion prize. Format The teams were drawn into 2 groups (4 teams in a group). Each team plays 2 matches against the other teams in its group. The top two teams in each group qualified for the semi-finals while the bottom two teams entered the 5th to 8th-place position matches. Hong Kong League Cup
Hong Kong Football Association League Cup () is an annual football competition contested by clubs in the top-tier Hong Kong domestic football league (currently Hong Kong Premier League). The cup was relaunched for the 2014–15 season after being discontinued in the 2012–13 season. Format *All teams in Hong Kong First Division League (until 2013–2014 season) / Hong Kong Premier League (starting from 2014 to 2015 season) are divided in the 2 groups (Group A & B) in first round stage. Each team plays against all other teams in the group once. The top two teams in each group qualify into the semi-finals. *In the semi-finals, the first team in Group A plays against second team in Group B while the first team in Group B plays against second team in Group A. *The winner of the semi-finals enter the final, which is usually held in Hong Kong Stadium. Stephen Watson (born 4 April 1973 in Liverpool) is an English former professional footballer who played for and captained Scottish side St Mirren in the early 1990s. Rochy Melkiano Putiray (born 26 June 1970 Indonesia) is a retired footballer from Indonesia. Rochy was probably the most easily recognised player on the Indonesia national football team because of his brightly coloured and constantly changing hair. Hong Kong Stadium is the main sports venue of Hong Kong. Redeveloped from the old Government Stadium, it reopened as Hong Kong Stadium in March 1994. It has a maximum seating capacity of 40,000, including 18,260 at the main level, 3,173 at executive level, 18,510 upper-level seats and 57 seats for wheelchair users.
