The 2000–01 Eredivisie season was the 41st season of the Eredivisie in basketball, the highest professional basketball league in the Netherlands. Ricoh Astronauts won their 3rd national title. MPC Donar
Donar, also known as Donar Groningen, is a professional basketball club based in Groningen, Netherlands. The club competes in the BNXT League and its home arena is MartiniPlaza, which has a seating capacity of 4,350 people. Donar is one of the traditional first division clubs along with Den Bosch, as it entered the league years ago. The club won the national DBL championship seven times; in 1982, 2004, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Donar was runner-up in the seasons: 1998, 2006, 2011, 2015. There are also six Dutch Cups in the honor list of Donar; they won the cup in 2005, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022. Weert (; li, Wieërt ) is a municipality and city in the southeastern Netherlands located in the western part of the province of Limburg. Joe Spinks
Joseph S. Spinks (born June 20, 1972) is an American-Dutch retired basketball player and coach. He played eight seasons for ABC Amsterdam in the Netherlands and is considered one of the best players to have played in the Eredivisie. Spinks also was head coach and assistant coach for Amsterdam for two years. Spink's nickname during his playing career was "The Bull". College career Spinks played for Cambell from 1990 to 1994, and helped the Fighting Camels to their first-ever NCAA tournament berth in 1994. The Apollohal is an indoor sports hall located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Built in 1934 as a tennis hall, the complex was later designated for expositions and ice skating. Since it was renovated in 2004–2005, it has mainly been used as basketball hall. It is the current home arena of Apollo Amsterdam, a professional team that plays in the Dutch Basketball League (DBL). BC Omniworld Almere
Almere Pioneers is a Dutch amateur basketball team based in Almere. The team plays in the Promotiedivisie, the Dutch second tier league. History The club was founded in 1999 as a professional basketball club named BC Omniworld Almere and participated in the top-tier Eredivisie. The team played its home games in the Topsportcentrum Almere. The 2002–03 season was the best season in Almere's history, as the team reached the Eredivisie finals. In these finals Omniworld lost 0–4 to Amsterdam. In January 2008, the team went bankrupt and was forced to leave the Eredivisie. A year later, the club changed its name to Almere Pioneers and started playing in the second-tier amateur league Promotiedivisie. BV Den Helder was a professional basketball club from Den Helder, Netherlands. The team had several seasons in the Dutch Basketball League, the highest professional league in the Netherlands. Landstede Hammers is a Dutch basketball club based in Zwolle. The club plays in the BNXT League, the Dutch top tier division. The club was founded as Cees Lubbers The Hammers in 1995. In 1999, the club’s name was changed into Landstede Hammers. In 2001, the club received its current name Landstede Basketbal as the team became part of the same-named educational institution in Zwolle.
