The 2000–01 Bangladeshi cricket season marked the beginning of first-class domestic competition in Bangladesh, although the country had already staged first-class matches against touring teams in the previous year. The Green Delta National Cricket League was constituted as the first-class championship. Akram Khan (cricketer)
Mohammad Akram Hussain Khan ( bn, মোহাম্মদ আকরাম হুসেইন খান; born 1 November 1968) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer. A hard hitting middle order batsman, Akram played first-class cricket for Chittagong Division. He is currently the chief selector of the BCB, along with Habibul Bashar and Minhajul Abedin. Akram Khan was part of Bangladesh's inaugural Test match, in 2000–01 against India. He had been playing One Day International cricket since 1988. Enamul Haque (cricketer, Born 1966)
Enamul Haque Moni ( bn, এনামুল হক মণি; born 27 February 1966), also known as Enamul Haq Moni, is a former Bangladeshi cricketer who played in 10 Tests and 29 ODIs from 1990 to 2003. After retiring from competitive cricket he became an umpire, and made his first appearance in an ODI between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe on 3 December 2006. He is the first Bangladeshi Test-match cricketer to umpire in international cricket. Imran Farhat
Imran Farhat ( ur, , born 20 May 1982) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer who played for Pakistan national cricket team between 2001 and 2013. He usually opened the batting in most of his international innings. In January 2021, he retired from cricket, following the group stage of the 2020–21 Pakistan Cup. Biman Bangladesh Airlines Cricket Team
The Biman Bangladesh Airlines cricket team was a first-class cricket team in Bangladesh that played in only the inaugural 2000–01 domestic season and won the National Cricket League title. The team was sponsored by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, the government-owned airliner of Bangladesh. The club played its home games at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 1 Ground in Savar. Biman Bangladesh Airlines currently play among the 12 clubs in the Dhaka Metropolis Premier League which is not given first class status. Biman also sponsors a team in the Corporate Cricket League. The team signed 18-year-old Pakistani opening batsman Imran Farhat during the 2000–01 season, and Farhat dominated, scoring 216 in the first match of the season and ending up with the most runs in Bangladeshi first class cricket that season. Zaheer Khan
Zaheer Khan (born 8 October 1978) is an Indian former professional cricketer who played all forms of the game for the Indian national team from 2000 till 2014. He is a fast-medium left-arm bowler. Mohammed Rafique ( bn, মোহাম্মদ রফিক), born 5 September 1970 was a Bangladeshi cricket coach and former cricketer. He was the first Bangladeshi bowler to take 100 wickets in Test matches.
