The 2000 WNBA Playoffs was the postseason for the Women's National Basketball Association's 2000 season which ended with the Western Conference champion Houston Comets beating the Eastern Conference champion New York Liberty, 2-0. Shannon Johnson (basketball)
Shannon Regina "Pee Wee" Johnson (born August 18, 1974) is an American basketball player born in Hartsville, South Carolina. She last played for the Seattle Storm in the WNBA. She became the head coach at Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina in September 2015. Career After her collegiate playing days, Johnson played for the Columbus Quest with whom she won the 1997 and 1998 American Basketball League championships. Starting in 1999, Johnson played for the Orlando Miracle of the WNBA. She also played for Fenerbahçe İstanbul from Turkey in winter 1999–00 season. The team moved to Connecticut in 2003 and is now known as the Connecticut Sun. Before the 2004 season, Johnson was traded to the San Antonio Silver Stars. The Washington Mystics are an American professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. The Mystics compete in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) as a member club of the league's Eastern Conference. Nykesha Simone Sales (born May 10, 1976) is an American assistant coach at the University of Georgia. She is a former professional basketball player in the WNBA, as well as playing in the Bosnian league for the ZKK Mladi Krajisnik club. Her primary position is the small forward. Her second position is shooting guard. In 1999 Sales was added to the roster of the USA FIBA Senior National Team. Suzie McConnell-Serio (born July 29, 1966) is a former American women's basketball coach and player. She was the head coach for the women's basketball team at the University of Pittsburgh from 2013 to 2018. In 2004, she was named WNBA Coach of the Year as coach of the Minnesota Lynx. She was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2008. Chasity Melvin (born May 3, 1976) is a retired American professional basketball player, originally from Roseboro, North Carolina. A 6'3" (1.90 m) forward, Melvin entered the WNBA in 1999, and played for the Cleveland Rockers, the Washington Mystics, and the Chicago Sky over twelve seasons in the league.
