2000 Espirito Santo Trophy
The 2000 Espirito Santo Trophy took place 23–26 August at Sporting Club Berlin, on its Nick Faldo Course, in Bad Saarow, outside Berlin, Germany. It was the 19th women's golf World Amateur Team Championship for the Espirito Santo Trophy. The tournament was a 72-hole stroke play team event. There were a record 40 team entries, each with three players. The best two scores for each round counted towards the team total. The French team won the Trophy for their second title, their first since France won the inaugural event on home soil in 1964. They beat team South Korea by seven strokes. South Korea took the silver, while the combined team of Great Britain and Ireland took the bronze on third place another four strokes back. The defending United States team finished 17th, their worst finish ever in the championship, having won the trophy 13 times. Bad Saarow
Bad Saarow ( dsb, Zarow; 1950–2002: Bad Saarow-Pieskow) is a municipality in the Oder-Spree district, in Brandenburg, Germany. The place is known for its hot springs and for its mineral-rich mud. Kim Joo-Mi (Korean 김주미 ) (born 16 July 1984), also known as Joo Mi Kim, is a South Korean professional golfer. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. She attended Choo Ang University and turned professional in 2002. Kim won two tournaments on the LPGA of Korea Tour in 2003 and a third in 2004. Celeste Troche
Celeste Troche (pronounced "say-LESS-tay TROH-shay") (born 13 February 1981) is a Paraguayan professional golfer. Troche was born in Asunción. She attended Auburn University in the United States, and was a two time All-American. She was the co-medalist at the 2001 U.S. Women's Amateur. Troche turned professional in 2003 and has played on the LPGA Tour since then, but has struggled to hold on to full LPGA Tour status so she has had to spend time on the Futures Tour. In 2007, Troche and her Paraguay team partner Julieta Granada won the Women's World Cup of Golf. She graduated from Springwood School and returned to teach Spanish in later years. Julieta Granada (born 17 November 1986) is a Paraguayan professional golfer on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour and the Ladies European Tour. Amateur career Born in Asunción, Paraguay, Granada moved to the United States with her mother at the age of 14 in 2001 after receiving a scholarship to attend the David Leadbetter Golf Academy in Bradenton, Florida. While a student there, she earned numerous junior amateur titles. Lorena Ochoa Reyes (; born 15 November 1981) is a Mexican former professional golfer who played on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour from 2003 to 2010. Miriam Nagl (born 22 January 1981) is a Brazilian professional golfer who currently plays on the Ladies European Tour. Nagl was born in Curitiba, Brazil. Martina Eberl (born 29 June 1981) is a German professional golfer. She played on the Ladies European Tour (LET) between 2003 and 2012 and won four tournaments. Candie Kung (; born 8 August 1981) is an American professional golfer who plays on the U.S.-based LPGA Tour. Amateur career Kung was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She was a three-time American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) All-American and was named 1999 AJGA Player of the Year. She won the 2001 U.S. Women's Amateur Public Links.
