2000 Brantford Municipal Election
The 2000 Brantford municipal election was held on November 13, 2000, to elect a mayor, city councillors, and school trustees in the city of Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Results *Kevin Raymond was born in Sudbury, lived in Hamilton during his youth, and later moved to Toronto. He is a member of the Liberal Party and was an assistant for Member of Parliament (MP) Jane Stewart and Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) Dave Levac before running for office himself. He has also been a youth councillor and corporate recruiter and has done fundraising work for Habitat for Humanity. North Bay, Ontario
North Bay is a city in Northeastern Ontario, Canada. It is the seat of Nipissing District, and takes its name from its position on the shore of Lake Nipissing. North Bay developed as a railroad centre, and its airport was an important military location during the Cold War. History The site of North Bay is part of a historic canoe route where Samuel de Champlain took a party up the Ottawa River, through present-day Mattawa, on to Trout Lake and via the La Vase Creek to Lake Nipissing. Laurier Brantford is Wilfrid Laurier University's second campus located in Brantford, Ontario. The first and original campus of Wilfrid Laurier University is located in Waterloo, Ontario. Laurier follows a 'multicampus' structure, as it is one university with multiple campuses. Laurier Brantford opened its doors in 1999 with a total of only 39 students in its inaugural year. By January 2015, there were 2,625 full-time students, and an unstated number of part-time students. At that time, some reduction was expected for the 2015/2016 year because Nipissing University would not be accepting new students to the joint concurrent (BA/BEd) education program with Laurier in September 2015. Pauline Johnson
Emily Pauline Johnson (10 March 1861 – 7 March 1913), also known by her Mohawk stage name ''Tekahionwake'' (pronounced ''dageh-eeon-wageh'', ), was a Canadian poet, author, and performer who was popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. 1991 Brantford Municipal Election
The 1991 Brantford municipal election was held on November 12, 1991, to elect a mayor, councillors, and school trustees in Brantford, Ontario, Canada. Bob Taylor, who had served on council for only one year, was elected as mayor over incumbent Karen George. Results *Patrick "Pat" Luciani is a businessperson in Brantford. He was elected to Brantford city council for the city's third ward in 1972 and 1974; this followed two unsuccessful bids in 1968 and 1970. He did not seek re-election in 1976. After a nine-year break, he was returned to council in 1985, winning a seat in the city's fifth ward.
