2000 Asian Junior Badminton Championships
The 2000 Asian Junior Badminton Championships were held in Nishiyama Park Gymnasium, Kyoto, Japan from 21–27 July and organized by the Kyoto Badminton Association. 21 countries competed at this competition, and in the end of the tournament, China clinched all the titles. Seeded In the team event, Indonesia and China were the first seeded in the boys' and girls' team event. Shoji Sato was the first seeded in the boys' singles, and at the boys' doubles he also first seeded with Sho Sasaki. Wei Yan, Zhao Tingting/Li Yujia, and Sang Yang/Zhang Yawen from China were seeded first in the girls' singles, girls' doubles and mixed doubles respectively. Boys' team *1. *2. *3. *3. Kyoto
Kyoto (; Japanese: , ''Kyōto'' ), officially , is the capital city of Kyoto Prefecture in Japan. Xie Zhongbo
Xie Zhongbo (; born 22 May 1983) is a former Chinese badminton player from Hunan and raised in Sichuan. After retired from the international tournament, he works as badminton coach in Sichuan. Career A doubles specialist on the world circuit, Xie has regularly partnered Guo Zhendong in men's doubles and Zhang Yawen in mixed doubles over the past several years. Xie and Guo have won the Polish International (2004), the China Masters (2005), and the India Open (2008) together. They were quarter-finalists at 2007 BWF World Championships, and at the 2008 Beijing Olympics narrowly lost to the eventual gold medalists, Indonesia's Markis Kido and Hendra Setiawan, in the round of sixteen. Liu Fan
Frances Liu Fan (born 1 April 1984) is a Singaporean badminton player. Together with Li Li, Xiao Luxi and Rong Muxi, they were Singapore badminton's pioneer batch of foreign talent. Career Liu won Singapore first ever women's badminton team gold at the 2003 Southeast Asian Games that was held in Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City. She retired from her playing career in 2011 and in 2014, became Singapore national badminton (singles) coach.
