Tarang Cine Awards
The Tarang Cine Awards are presented annually by Tarang entertainment television channel to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Oriya language film industry mainly based in State of Orissa, India. History The awards have been instituted by Orissa Television (ORTEL) Communications that has launched the Taranga exclusive entertainment channel. To commemorate the 75 glorious years of Oriya cinema Bibhuprasad Rath, Director of Orissa Televisions Limited has announced Tarang Cine Awards during the award presentation ceremony in the Bhubaneswar on 26 February 2010. The Odia film industry, colloquially known as Ollywood, is the Odia language Indian film industry, based in Bhubaneshwar and Cuttack in Odisha, India. The name Ollywood is a portmanteau of the words Odia and Hollywood. Industry In 1974, the Government of Odisha declared film making and construction of cinema theatres as an industry in the state, and in 1976 it established the Odisha Film Development Corporation in Cuttack. History Odisha has a history of filmmaking, starting from 1936. The first Odia film is '' Sita Bibaha'', made by Mohan Sundar Deb Goswami in 1936. Drawn from the Indian epic ''Ramayana'', the story is about the marriage of Sita and Ram. The film plot was made from a drama written by Kamapala Mishra. Prepared with a budget of only Rs 30,000, the film has 14 song sequences. Sanju Aau Sanjana
''Sanju Aau Sanjana'' is a 2010 Odia film screenplay & directed by Ashok Pati with dialogue by Rajaniranjan, produced by Lutu Mohanty, and starring Babushaan, Parijaat, and Mihir Das. It is a remake of the Telugu film Parugu starring Allu Arjun, Sheela, and Prakash Raj. Plot Parsuram Paikray is an influential personality in the city. He has a dream that both of his daughters Sanjana and Anjana should marry upon his choice. Anjana falls in love with Amar and left home after get married. Parsuram kidnapped all of Amar's friends with his goons to track his daughter. Sanjay is one of Amar's friend, who get kidnapped. Siddhanta Mahapatra ( od, ସିଦ୍ଧାନ୍ତ ମହାପାତ୍ର; born 4 May 1966), known mononymously as Munna Bhai, is an Indian actor, television personality and politician who works predominantly in Odia films. Early and Personal Life Siddhanta was born to a Brahmin family in Brahmapur, Ganjam, Odisha. Career Acting His first lead role in an Odia film came in 1992 at the age of 26, in ''Shradhanjali''. Mihir Das
Mihir Kumar Das (17 February 1959 – 11 January 2022) was an Indian actor who worked in Odia language films (Ollywood industry). He had received several awards, notably Best Actor for his films ''Laxmi Pratima'' in 1998 and ''Pheria Mo Suna Bhauni'' in 2005 Best Supporting Actor award for his films ''Rakhi Bandhili Mo Rakhiba Mana'' in 2002 and ''Prema Adhei Akhyara'' and Best Comedian award for ''Mu Tate Love Karuchhi'' in 2007 from the Odisha state government.
