27th Muhammad Rasulullah Division
27th Mohammad Rasulullah Division ( fa, لشکر ۲۷ محمد رسولالله) was a division of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Ground Forces based in Tehran. It was established as the 27th Mohammad Rasulullah Brigade by Ahmad Motevasselian and Mohammad Ebrahim Hemmat during Iran–Iraq War, and was expanded into a division just before the Operation Jerusalem. Operation Badr (1985)
Operation Badr was an Iranian Military operation, operation conducted during the Iran–Iraq War against the forces of Ba'athist Iraq. The Iranians launched their offensive on March 11 and succeeded in capturing a part of the Basra-Amarah-Baghdad highway. The following Iraqi counterattack, however, forced the Iranians out in a continual war of endless stalemate. Prelude After its failure to capture Basra in 1982, Iran launched Operation Kheibar in 1984 to capture the Highway 6 (Iraq), Baghdad-Basra highway. This resulted in the Battle of the Marshes, and the operation failed, but Iran planned for Operation Badr in a further attempt to capture it. Mohammad-Ali Allahdadi ( fa, محمدعلی اللهدادی; 1963 – January 18, 2015) was a brigadier general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and a military officer in the Quds Force. Hossein Hamadani
Hossein Hamedani, also spelled Hamedani ( fa, حسین همدانی; December 15, 1950 – October 7, 2015), was an Iranian Revolutionary Guard commander. He was posthumously promoted to a Major General. Biography Hamadani was born in Abadan, Iran. His parents were originally from Hamadan. Hamadani first rose to prominence during the 1979 Kurdish rebellion in Iran and the Iran–Iraq War, where he helped suppress the Communist rebellion in Iranian Kurdistan. Mohammad Ali Jafari appointed him as Deputy Commander of the IRGC in 2005, and together they planned how to deal with any attempted "velvet revolution" in Iran. Esmaeil Kousari
Esmaeil Kowsari ( fa, اسماعیل کوثری, born 3 March 1955) is an Iranian military officer and conservative politician who was the deputy chief of Tharallah Headquarters, an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps unit responsible for maintaining security in Tehran. Kowsari was a member of the Parliament of Iran from 2008 to 2016, representing Tehran, Rey, Shemiranat and Eslamshahr. Mansour Haghdoust
Mansour Haghdoust (1962 - 2001) was born in Abadan, Iran. He was one of the first IRGC members to become an acting commander during Iran–Iraq War. After the war he started studying in physics and was granted a PhD in Quantum mechanics from the University of Kashan. Great Iranian Generals Ahmad Kazemi and Mohammad Bagheri have called him the father of Sunni Basij and the Godfather of Iranian Paramilitary forces. Mohammad Ebrahim Hemmat ( fa, محمدابراهیم همت, April 2, 1955 in Shahreza, Isfahan Province – March 7, 1984 in Majnoon Island, Iraq) was a teacher and an Iranian military leader. He was one of the highest ranking officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps during the Iran-Iraq War. In 1982, he spent a few months fighting against Israel during the 1982 Lebanon War. Ahmad Motevasselian
Ahmad Motevaselian ( fa, احمد متوسلیان), an Iranian military attaché, was one of four Iranians who disappeared in Lebanon in 1982. During the Iran–Iraq War, he was a commander in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and established the 27th Muhammad Rasoolullah Division of Tehran. He played a role in the Liberation of Khorramshahr and later, as part of a senior diplomatic group of political and military leaders, went to Syria. On 5 July 1982, when the vehicle carrying the diplomats was passing through a checkpoint post on its way to Beirut, it was intercepted by Phalange Party. Operation Karbala 8 (Persian: عملیات کربلای ۸) was an operation which was commenced by Iran on 7 April 1987 with the --Islamic-- code of "Ya Saheb al-Zaman" (Persian: یا صاحب الزمان). Operation Karbala 8 was launched with the goal of destruction of Iraqi forces, and strengthening the obtained positions of operation Karbala 5 in 5 days by Iran in the east of Basrah operation area (Shalamcheh) by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps ground forces.
