27th Bangladesh National Film Awards
The 27th National Film Awards, presented by Ministry of Information, Bangladesh to felicitate the best of Bangladeshi Cinema released in the year 2002. Bangladesh National Film Awards is a film award ceremony in Bangladesh established in 1975 by Government of Bangladesh. Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry, and the award ceremony is held in Dhaka. An eleven-member jury board chaired by the additional secretary of the Ministry of Information selected the winners in different categories. A 12-member jury board headed by Sadeq Khan, Chairman of Board of Directors, Press Institute of Bangladesh suggested the name of 17 artistes for the National Film Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the country's film industry. Monir Khan is a Bangladeshi singer. In his career he has released 42 solo albums and more than 300 duet and mixed albums. He has won Bangladesh National Film Awards for three times as the Best Male Playback Singer for his performance in the films ''Premer Taj Mahal'' (2001), ''Laal Doriya'' (2002) and ''Dui Noyoner Alo'' (2005). National Film Awards (Bangladesh) Ceremonies
The National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremony in India. Established in 1954, it has been administered, along with the International Film Festival of India and the Indian Panorama, by the Indian government's Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973. Bachsas ( Bangladesh Cholochitra Sangbadik Samity) Awards was introduced in 1972 to encourage the fledgling film industry of the country. Bangladesh Cholochchitra Shangbadik Samity (Bangladesh Cine-Journalists' Association) gave out their most prestigious awards to outstanding performers in film, television, music, dance and theatre. Tareq Masud
Tareque Masud (6 December 1956 – 13 August 2011) was a Bangladeshi independent film director, film producer, screenwriter and lyricist. He first found success with the films ''Muktir Gaan'' (1995) and '' Matir Moina'' (2002), for which he won three international awards, including the International Critics' FIPRESCI Prize, in the Directors' Fortnight at 2002 Cannes Film Festival. The film became Bangladesh's first film to compete for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Masud died in a road accident on 13 August 2011 while returning to Dhaka from Manikganj on the Dhaka-Aricha highway after visiting a filming location.
