'' 27861 '' is the sixth studio album from American country music ensemble Parmalee. It was released on July 21, 2017. Background Parmalee had first released the lead single from the album, "Roots", on April 11, 2016, however it only reached No. 35 on Country Airplay. The lead singer of Parmalee Matt Thomas then started to co-write a number of new songs with other songwriters, such as Craig Wiseman, Jim Beavers, Josh Osborne, busbee, and Tom Douglas. The group also decided to co-produce these new tracks through their own initiative with other producers, primarily Tommy Cecil and Brock Berryhill. One of these new songs, "Sunday Morning", was released to radio as the second single on May 1, 2017. The songs from the album were recorded in five different locations, including Pegram Palace, where the Thomas brothers live. The number 27861 is the postal code of Parmele, the hometown of the group. Thomas Stevenson Douglas (born January 27, 1953) is an American country music songwriter. He has written Top 10 ''Billboard'' Country hits for John Michael Montgomery, Martina McBride, Tim McGraw, Collin Raye, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, and others. Parmele, North Carolina
Parmele is a town in Martin County, North Carolina, Martin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 278 at the 2010 census. History The town was settled in 1890 when the Wilmington and Weldon Railroad was built through the area to provide transportation from nearby lumber mills. It was named for local lumber mill owner E. A. Parmele. Following the construction of the Albemarle and Raleigh Railroad, the population rapidly grew and it was incorporated as a town in 1893 by the North Carolina General Assembly. A fire that burned through much of the town on April 1, 1904 destroying many businesses and led to the decline of nearby lumber mills. In 1909, William C. Chance founded the Higgs Industrial School for African Americans (also known as the Parmele Industrial Institute) which at its peak occupied a six-building campus and merged with the town's public school. Josh Osborne (born c. 1980) is an American songwriter with several number-one singles to his credit. Early life Josh Osborne was born in Pike County, Kentucky, and raised in Virgie, Kentucky.
