25 NAA
The .25 NAA is a pistol cartridge introduced by the North American Arms company in 2002. It was originally created for use in a smaller and lighter model of their Guardian pistol. It is based on a .32 ACP case necked down to accept .251-inch diameter (.25 ACP) bullets. History and design The cartridge was originally conceived of and prototyped by gunwriter J.B. Wood, and called the "25/32 JBW". North American Arms and Cor-Bon Ammunition then further developed the cartridge, and the NAA Guardian .25 NAA pistol combination for production in consultation with Ed Sanow. Introduction The finalized cartridge and pistol were introduced at the 2004 SHOT Show. It followed the successful introduction of two other commercial bottleneck handgun cartridges, the .357 SIG in 1994 (which necked a .40 S&W case down to accept .355 caliber bullets); and the .400 Corbon in 1996 (which necked a .45 ACP case down to accept .40 caliber bullets). A cartridge or a round is a type of pre-assembled firearm ammunition packaging a projectile (bullet, shot, or slug), a propellant substance (usually either smokeless powder or black powder) and an ignition device (primer) within a metallic, paper, or plastic case that is precisely made to fit within the barrel chamber of a breechloading gun, for the practical purpose of convenient transportation and handling during shooting. North American Arms is a United States company, headquartered in Provo, Utah, that manufactures pocket pistols and mini-revolvers, also called mouse guns. The company was originally named ''Rocky Mountain Arms'' when it was founded in 1972. History Founded in Sturgis, South Dakota, Cor-Bon/Glaser Ammunition originated when Peter Pi Sr. started making handgun hunting ammo in 1982 because the commonly available ammunition at that time was performing poorly. Pi noticed that hollow point ammunition would not expand and went about creating a line of ammunition with reliable expansion. In 2017 the Company was sold to TA Perrine and moved to Wooster, OH. In 2021 the company was sold again to an investment group out of Sandusky, OH, CorBon Law Enforcement Training Center On June 23, 2011 the company opened the CorBon Law Enforcement Training Center (CLETC) in Sturgis, South Dakota.
