A-ha achieved their biggest success with their debut album '' Hunting High and Low'' in 1985. The album peaked at number one in their native Norway, number two in the UK, and number 15 on the US ''Billboard'' album chart; yielded two international number-one singles: " Take On Me" and "The Sun Always Shines on T.V."; and earned the band a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist. Train Of Thought (A-ha Song)
"Train of Thought" is a song by Norwegian band A-ha, released in March 1986 as the fourth single from their debut studio album, ''Hunting High and Low'' (1985). The lyrics for this song were based on the existentialist authors and poets Gunvor Hofmo, Knut Hamsun and Fyodor Dostoevsky – Pål's favourites at the time. It was A-ha's third consecutive top-10 single in the UK, reaching number eight. It was not a pop hit in the United States, but a 12-inch single featuring a remix of the song appeared on the Hot Dance Club Play charts. The single sold 500,000 copies worldwide. Another remix by Steve Thompson was released in 1986. Music video The music video was directed by Candice Reckinger and Michael Patterson. The video concept was designed by the same producers who brought "Take On Me" into the video mainstream. The black-and-white footage and animation in the "Train of Thought" video actually predated the "Take On Me" single, and was the inspiration for the animation in the "Tak ...

The Living Daylights
''The Living Daylights'' is a 1987 spy film, the fifteenth entry in the ''James Bond'' series produced by Eon Productions, and the first of two to star Timothy Dalton as the fictional MI6 agent James Bond. Directed by John Glen, the film's title is taken from Ian Fleming's short story "The Living Daylights", the plot of which also forms the basis of the first act of the film. It was the last film to use the title of an Ian Fleming story until the 2006 instalment '' Casino Royale''. It is also the first film to have Caroline Bliss as Miss Moneypenny, replacing Lois Maxwell. The film was produced by Albert R. Broccoli, his stepson Michael G. Wilson, and co-produced by his daughter, Barbara Broccoli. ''The Living Daylights'' grossed $191.2 million worldwide, and received mixed reviews from critics. The Living Daylights (soundtrack)
''The Living Daylights'' is the soundtrack title for the film ''The Living Daylights'' and the eleventh and final Bond soundtrack to be scored by composer John Barry. The soundtrack is notable for its introduction of sequenced electronic rhythm tracks overdubbed with the orchestra – at the time, a relatively new innovation. The title song of the film, "The Living Daylights", was recorded by Norwegian pop group A-ha. As of 2017 this is the only Bond film where the title song has not been performed by either British or American artists. A-ha and Barry did not collaborate well, resulting in two versions of the theme song. Barry's film mix is heard on the soundtrack and all three of A-ha's best-of compilations. The A-ha preferred mix can be heard on their 1988 album '' Stay on These Roads''. However, in 2006 A-ha's Paul Waaktaar-Savoy complimented Barry's contributions "I loved the stuff he added to the track, I mean it gave it this really cool string arrangement. That's when, f ...

The Living Daylights (song)
"The Living Daylights" is the theme song from the 1987 James Bond film of the same name, performed by Norwegian band A-ha. It was written by guitarist Pål Waaktaar. A revised version of the song was included on the band's third studio album, ''Stay on These Roads'' (1988). Origin and recording John Barry is credited as co-writer and producer, and the initial release of the song was his version. A second version of the song, re-worked by A-ha in 1988, later appeared on their third studio album, ''Stay on These Roads''. When interviewed on a late-night show in 1987, Barry said that he found working with the band exhausting secondary to the band's insistence on using their own version of the song for release. In an interview with ''Hot Rod'' magazine, keyboardist Magne Furuholmen said that "he band'sfight with Barry left a rather unpleasant aftertaste. Apparently, he compared us to Hitlerjugend in a newspaper interview." Harket stated in an interview with Paul Lester of the Gua ...

Manhattan Skyline (song)
"Manhattan Skyline" is a song by Norwegian band A-ha, released in February 1987 as the third single from their second studio album, '' Scoundrel Days'' (1986). It reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart. The song was co-written by keyboardist Magne Furuholmen and guitarist Paul Waaktaar-Savoy. The song starts with Furuholmen playing a Harpsichord synthesizer sound in F major, before kicking into a hard rock-style chorus with a guitar riff in D minor. In the official A-ha biography, ''The Swing of Things 1985–2010'' by Jan Omdahl, Furuholmen said: "Manhattan Skyline" was perhaps one of the most inspired cut and paste projects that Paul and I did. I wrote the quiet part. Paul wrote the rock part. I thought I was doing a classic when I worked on the opening riff. Well, okay, it is a classic, actually." The B-side, "We're Looking for the Whales", was recorded at a concert at Fairfield Halls, Croydon in London on 19 January 1987. The single version omits the lyric "you see thin ...
