''Morrissey: 25 Live'' is a 2013 music concert film documentary depicting Morrissey's March 2, 2013 live performance at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles, California. The concert was intended to mark his 25-year solo career following the break-up of The Smiths. The film focused on Morrissey as a performer, rather than as a man. Background Marking Morrissey's 25th anniversary as a solo performer, the concert took place at Hollywood High School the day after his sold-out concert at Staples Center. The location was the smallest venue of the year's tour, and tickets for the Hollywood High venue sold out in 12 seconds. Jesse Tobias
Jesse Tobias (born April 1, 1972) is an American guitarist who is the lead guitarist and co-writer for Morrissey since 2004. Tobias first gained fame during a brief tenure with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1993, although he was replaced by Dave Navarro within a month after joining the band. Before he joined the Chili Peppers, he briefly played with the band ''Mother Tongue''. In 1995, Tobias joined the touring band for Alanis Morissette and from 1999–2005 was a member of the musical duo, Splendid. Life and career In 1990, Tobias formed the band ''Mother Tongue'' in Austin, TX. They were signed to record label in 1992. "November Spawned a Monster" is a song by British singer Morrissey, released as a single in April 1990. It was written by Morrissey and Clive Langer and features one of Morrissey's former colleagues from the Smiths, Andy Rourke. The single reached number 12 on the UK Singles Chart. "Ouija Board, Ouija Board" is a song by English singer-songwriter Morrissey, released as a single in November 1989. The track appears along with its B-side "Yes, I Am Blind" on the compilation album ''Bona Drag''. A shorter edit, omitting a verse, appeared on the 2010 reissue of ''Bona Drag''. The single was poorly received by the music press and the public; its highest position on the UK Singles Chart was 18, making it the first solo Morrissey single not to reach the top 10. "Gloria" is a rock song written by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, and originally recorded by Morrison's band Them in 1964. It was released as the B-side of "Baby, Please Don't Go". The song became a garage rock staple and a part of many rock bands' repertoires. Composition and recording According to Morrison, he wrote "Gloria" while performing with the Monarchs in Germany in the summer of 1963, at just about the time he turned 18 years old. He started to perform it at the Maritime Hotel when he returned to Belfast and joined up with the Gamblers to form the band Them. ''Banga'' is the eleventh and most recent studio album by American rock musician Patti Smith, released on June 1, 2012 on Columbia Records. Patricia Lee Smith (born December 30, 1946) is an American singer, songwriter, poet, painter and author who became an influential component of the New York City punk rock movement with her 1975 debut album '' Horses''.
