National Theater And Concert Hall, Taipei
The National Theater () and National Concert Hall () are twin performing arts venues at Liberty Square in Zhongzheng District, Taipei, Taiwan. Completed in 1987, the landmarks stand on the south and north sides of the square with Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall to the east. Together the venues are referred to by the abbreviation ''NTCH''. The square itself sits near Ketagalan Boulevard, site of the Presidential Office Building, the National Central Library, the National Taiwan Museum, and the 228 Peace Memorial Park. History Taiwan's National Theater and National Concert Hall are two of the first major modern performing arts facilities to be established in Asia. CTS Main Channel is the flagship free-to-air terrestrial television channel of the Chinese Television System network and is the third oldest free-to-air terrestrial television channel in the Republic of China (Taiwan) after TTV Main Channel and CTV Main Channel. History The origins of CTS Main Channel go all the way back to 1956 when the Education Minister of the Republic of China Chang Chi-yun proposed an educational television service that world be run by Taiwan's Ministry of Education. Voice of Han Broadcasting Station () also known as Voice of Han Chinese Broadcasting Station was founded in 1942 by the Ministry of National Defense. It is headquartered on Xinyi Road in the Zhongzheng District of Taipei, Taiwan. History 1942, Voice of Han Radio was located in Mainland China and originally called Military Radio. 1949, the military radio station moved to Taiwan when the Kuomintang retreated following the Chinese Civil War. 1988, the military radio station was renamed to "Voice of Han" and launched more extensive coverage which offered listeners radio programs to listeners nationwide. 2002, on the 60th anniversary celebration of the radio station, President of the Republic of China, Chen Shui-bian broadcast a speech on Voice of Han calling for a communication bride between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. 2010, Voice of Han Broadcasting in Kinmen added another frequency coverage, including Xiamen, which is located in Mainland China.
