22nd Utah Senate District
The 22nd Utah Senate District is located in Central Davis County and includes Utah House Districts 11, 15, 16, 17 and 18. The district includes Farmington, Kaysville, Fruit Heights, most of Layton and part of North Centerville. The current State Senator representing the 22nd district is Jake Anderegg. Utah ( , ) is a state in the Mountain West subregion of the Western United States. Davis County is a county in northern Utah, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the population was 306,479, making it Utah's third-most populous county. Its county seat is Farmington, and its largest city is Layton. Davis County is part of the Ogden- Clearfield, UT Metropolitan Statistical Area as well as the Salt Lake City- Provo-Orem, UT Combined Statistical Area. History The legislature of the provisional State of Deseret defined the county in an October 5, 1850 act, which also designated Farmington as the seat due to its location midway between boundaries at the Weber River on the north and the Jordan River on the south. Farmington, Utah
Farmington is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 24,531 at the 2020 census. The Lagoon Amusement Park and Station Park transit-oriented retail center (which includes a FrontRunner train station) are located in Farmington. History The region that is now Farmington was settled in 1847 by the Haight family, a Mormon pioneer family that established a farm and an inn. Five more pioneering families migrated to this region in the autumn of 1849. The region developed into an undefined community originally called North Cottonwood Settlement. In 1852, the territorial legislature picked North Cottonwood as the county seat and officially named it Farmington. Following orders from Daniel H. Wells and Brigham Young, Farmington residents built a wall around the city in 1853 under the direction of Major Thomas S. Smith. This walled townsite became known as "the Fort".
