225th Engineer Brigade (United States)
The 225th Engineer Brigade is a combat heavy engineer brigade of the Louisiana Army National Guard. It is one of the largest engineer formations in the United States Army National Guard. The 225th Engineer Brigade is headquartered at Camp Beauregard near Pineville, Louisiana in Rapides Parish. The brigade conducts missions of mobility, counter-mobility, survivability, and civil engineering support. The brigade possesses a mixture of civil and combat engineer units to accomplish these missions. History In 1990 the 769th Engineer Battalion participated in the "Fuertes Caminos", a low intensity conflict from 6 January to 7 July 1990. Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
A shoulder sleeve insignia (often abbreviated SSI) is an embroidered patch worn on some uniforms of the United States Army. It is used by major formations of the U.S. Army; each formation has a unique formation patch. The U.S. Army is unique among the U.S. Armed Forces in that all soldiers are required to wear the patch of their headquarters as part of their military uniforms. Shoulder sleeve insignia receive their name from the fact that they are most commonly worn on the upper left sleeve of the Army Combat Uniform (ACU) and Army Green uniform. However, they can be placed on other locations, notably on the side of a helmet. Shoulder sleeve insignia worn on the upper right sleeve of Army uniforms denote former wartime service. Ladyville is the largest village in the country of Belize, eight miles northwest of Belize City in the Belize District. The Philip Goldson Highway connects Ladyville to Belize City. Burrel Boom
Burrell Boom is on the Belize River twenty miles above Belize City, Belize. Tourists pass through this historic village on their way to the Community Baboon Sanctuary, where the population of black howler monkeys has grown to over 2,000. History During the 18th century, loggers settled along the Belize River, floating logwood and later mahogany logs down to Belize Town. Burrell Boom grew as a gathering and milling point for these logs, with its boom stretched across the river. In 1837 the Methodist ministers Thomas Jefferies and John Greenwood built a chapel in Burrell Boom, and Catholic missionary activities ensued along the whole Belize River from the mid-nineteenth century. Hattieville
Hattieville is a village in the Belize District of the nation of Belize. It is located at 17N 88W, at an elevation of above mean sea level, and has a population of about 1,300 people. Hattieville was established as a refugee camp after Hurricane Hattie made many people homeless in Belize City when it hit in 1961, but it became a permanent town. Operation New Horizons 2007 built two additional school rooms onto the Hattieville government school between 17 March - 12 May 2007.
