211th Military Police Battalion
The 211th Military Police Battalion ("First Corps of Cadets") is a unit of the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Its Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment is descended from the First Corps of Cadets, initially formed in 1741. It is one of several National Guard units with colonial roots. Its motto is Monstrat Viam – "It Points the Way." While it has served in five wars, the sub-unit's primary contribution to Massachusetts and to the United States was as an officer-producing institution for new regiments from the Revolutionary War through World War II. Early years The inter-war years The First Corps of Cadets was reorganized on 27 July 1921 as the 1st Separate Infantry Battalion. The 211th Rescue Squadron (211th RQS) is a unit of the Alaska Air National Guard 176th Wing located at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska. The 211th is equipped with the HC-130J Hercules. Overview The 211th flies four HC-130 Hercules transports, a version of the C-130 specially modified and upgraded for aerial refueling and combat search-and-rescue missions. These aircraft extend the range of the wing’s HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopters with an air refueling capability. Established on 8 October 2004 by the Air Force Special Operations Command as part of a re-organization of Air National Guard rescue units which created separate squadrons for fixed-wing, helicopter and pararescue elements of the 210th Rescue Squadron. All three squadrons are assigned to the 176th Operations Group. 211th Street (Lincoln Highway) is a commuter rail station along the Main Branch of the Metra Electric line in Olympia Fields, Illinois. It is located at 211th Street between Olympian Way and Olympian Circle, and is away from the northern terminus at Millennium Station. In Metra's zone-based fare system, 211th Street station is in zone 3. , the station is the 95th busiest of Metra's 236 non-downtown stations, with an average of 527 weekday boardings. This station actually straddles three cities. The northern part of the platform and northern parking lot lies in Olympia Fields, the eastern parking lot in Park Forest, and the western parking lot and bus station in Matteson.
