2027 AFC Asian Cup
The 2027 AFC Asian Cup will be the 19th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The tournament will involve 24 national teams after the expansion in 2019. Host selection AFC confirmed that the following member associations expressed their interests to host 2027 Asian Cup before the 30 June 2020 deadline, and they gave their necessary letters of undertaking in November. On 17 October 2022, the AFC Executive Committee announced that the host of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup would be chosen by the AFC Congress at its next meeting in February 2023. However, India, one of the last two bidders, withdrew on 5 December leaving Saudi Arabia as the only remaining bidder. 2023 AFC Asian Cup
The 2023 AFC Asian Cup will be the 18th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Asia organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). It will involve 24 national teams after expansion in 2019, with Qatar as the defending champions. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in China from 16 June to 16 July 2023. On 14 May 2022, the AFC announced that China would not host the tournament due to the circumstances caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and China's Zero-COVID policy. On 17 October, the AFC announced that the tournament will be held in Qatar. Qatar will become the first country to host three Asian Cups, after 1988 and 2011. King Saud University Stadium, also known as Mrsool Park due to sponsorship reasons, is a football stadium located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In September 2020, Saudi Media Company obtained the management rights for operating the stadium. In October 2020, SMC signed a deal with Al Nassr FC for the Mrsool Park to become their home. History The construction work on the campus of King Saud University in Western Riyadh started in Spring 2011 and the opening took place in May 2015. The construction work was commissioned to Hashem Contracting Company, based on designs by Michael KC Cheah and his wife Steph, expanding their architectural portfolio of Saudi-based football stadia. Prince Abdullah al-Faisal Stadium ( ar, استاد الأمير عبدالله الفيصل) is a stadium in the port city of Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The stadium is located in the south east of Jeddah, between King Abdulaziz University and the industrial city (Al Waziriah District). It is bound in the east by the Jeddah-Makkah expressway and in the south, Stadium street.
